Robin Thicke's Twitter Q&A A Complete Disaster
(Radio.com) The idea that you can corral The Internet - a lawless tribunal of loudmouths unbeholden to personal responsibility for the things they say - into a respectable town hall meeting to ask the world's most ineligible bachelor Robin Thicke some questions is, to put it in no uncertain terms, impossible.

This should be well known by now. Recall other like-minded hashtag campaigns against embattled and controversial institutions such as the #AskRKelly kerfuffle or the #myNYPD debacle or the #askJPM brouhaha.

Nevertheless, Robin Thicke (or his intern) is now staring at an ocean of snarky questions and it is almost impossible to find an actual question that he would answer among the group.

The sarcasm and barbs run deep, ranging from hundreds of questions that include the word "misogynist," hundreds of questions that include the word "Paula," hundreds of questions that include the word "Beetlejuice," and a couple of tweets that kind of lasso the public's concern into one silver bullet question:

Rachel McKibbens asked "If you HAD to choose, would you rather be remembered for a rape anthem, the public stalking of Paula or cultural appropriation?#AskThicke"

See some of the snarky questions here.

Beyonce Sparks Marriage Trouble Speculation With Changed Lyric
(Radio.com) While the gossip mill churns out more and more (flimsy) evidence of turmoil within the Jay Z and Beyonce power marriage, the pair continue to tour the country. Together.

Still, the latest evidence of trouble in paradise comes courtesy of a changed lyric during Beyonce's Cincinnati, Ohio, performance of "Resentment," which details a woman dealing with her partner's infidelity, originally recorded by another singer in a high profile marriage, Victoria Beckham.

The changed lyric? Beyonc switched the years mentioned in the song from "six" to "12," the amount of time her and Hova have known each other. Of course, they married six years ago, so she could have just kept the line as "Been riding with you for six years" and it would have still been factually accurate with relating to her relationship.

More including video of the performance here.

CHVRCHES React To Linkin Park 'Disney Music' Comment
(Radio.com) If you find it hard to keep up with the latest musician beef, you are not alone. It seems CHVRCHES, the polite and eloquent Scottish electro-pop trio, have fallen behind as well.

But in an interview with joiz at France's OpenAir St. Gallen festival, the band caught up and finally fired back at Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, who named CHVRCHES along with HAIM and Vampire Weekend as examples of music that "sounds like Disney commercial music" in an interview with Noisey from April.

The rising indie outfit, known for their earworm single "The Mother We Share," are hardly seasoned pros at trading public shots, and begin the conversation mildly and with restraint. "I'm a massive Linkin Park fan," Martin Doherty says before snickering at his own sarcasm.

But then the gloves come off, with frontwoman Lauren Mayberry cleverly noting "it's not a coincidence that his band has a record to sell, and he mentioned several bands that people are writing about."

Later in the interview, Iain Cook chimes in by noting that it is "a pointless dig," questioning what Linkin Park have to gain by the knock, which Doherty chuckles at, thinking Cook actually said "pointless dick."

Check out the full interview here.

Eminem and Busta Rhymes Accused of 'Beat Theft'
(Radio.com) The first thing you should think of when you hear Eminem and Busta Rhymes' new track, "Calm Down," is House of Pain; or perhaps "Harlem Shuffle"; the song is built on the original's horn intro used prominently in House of Pain's "Jump Around," and before the end, the guys are yelling "Jump Around" in honor of the '90s hip-hop group.

But the rapper, Genesis LXG would like us all to know, the duo really stole that appropriating horn-looping beat from him. The rapper took to Twitter on Monday (June 30) to question the similarities between "Calm Down" and his own song, "House of Pain," which he released back in March.

In a series of tweets Genesis writes, "So dude jacked my beat and gave it to Eminem and Busta #Jacked," and later questions if the "Calm Down" similarity was "#Coincidence" or just plain theft by the Em and Busta track's producer, Scoop Deville. more on this story

The new song features production from three notable producers: Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ilya, all of whom worked on Grande's killer "Problem."

Wu-Tang Affiliated Rapper Has Penis Reattached
(Radio.com) One-time Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated rapper Christ Bearer says that, despite the fact that he cut his penis off in a much-written about incident in April, his member has reunited with his body and is now fully functioning. In fact, he hopes to prove both points by doing an adult film.

TMZ interviewed the man - who seemed eager to show his manhood - outside his Long Beach, Calif., barber shop (although it would seem that his friends and family might want to keep him away from sharp objects for the time being).

In a fairly bonkers video interview that lasts less than two minutes, Bearer indicated that he has new music coming out in August as part of rap duo Northstar, and was also fairly emphatic that he is still affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan, despite the group making a public statement via their website that they have nothing to do with him (although that post was deleted soon after it went live).

RZA later explained that he was affiliated with Christ Bearer 10 years ago, saying, "He was a guy from the hood that we gave a shot. I don't make music with him nowadays."

TMZ's crack interviewer asked the rapper if any drugs were involved in his self-castrating incident, which led to a series of bleeped-out expletives; however he does say, "PCP was involved!" and adds, "Kids, say no to drugs!"

Disclosure Deny Working With Madonna On New Music
(Radio.com) They say a picture's worth a thousand words, but a recent photo of Madonna hanging out with Disclosure backstage at Governors Ball in New York City doesn't say any of the words you might have originally hoped.

Disclosure's Guy and Howard Lawrence told Billboard they are not - repeat, not - teaming up with the Material Girl for any upcoming tracks on either their follow-up to 2013′s Settle or her upcoming record.

"She came to our gig at Governors Ball," Howard explained, "and within a few hours, there were articles being written about how we were producing her album - and we had met her that day. How could we even have done that?"

But even though the two, who say Madge is "really cool" and "very chill," aren't currently working with the Material Girl doesn't mean they might not team up with her in the future. more on this story

23 Hospitalized At Digital Dreams EDM Fest
(Radio.com) Large-scale EDM events continue to be a breeding ground for medical issues with the news that 23 attendees at Toronto's Digital Dreams festival last weekend (June 28-29) required hospital attention, in large part due to drug- and alcohol-related issues.

"Out of the over 100 patients we treated at that location each day paramedics were able to stabilize about 75 patients at the scene and deemed 23 others as needing further hospital care. This included one patient in life threatening condition," said EMS media liaison Kim McKinnon (via Billboard).

"Because of the large amount of patients transported and based on their condition the patients were transported to several downtown hospitals. Once the patients are turned over to the emergency room staff we no longer track their progress so I can't speak to their status after paramedics were no longer overseeing their care."

Voted "Party of the Year" in 2013 at the 13th Annual Toronto Nightclub Awards, Digital Dreams 2014 drew more than 70,000 people with a bill that included Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Flux Pavilion and Justice. The event is in its third year and is produced by Live Nation Canada's EDM division Electronic Nation Canada at The Flats by Lake Ontario on the grounds of Ontario Place. more on this story

Blake Shelton Breaks His Own Record
(Radio.com) Breaking an historic record is fun. Breaking one you set yourself just six months ago? Even cooler. This week, Blake Shelton hit the top of both the Billboard and Mediabase country airplay singles charts with "My Eyes," a duet with his onetime Voice protege Gwen Sebastian. It's Shelton's 12th consecutive No. 1 country single, and it sets a new record for consecutive No. 1 hits in country music.

It's also a record that Shelton already held, thanks to his previous chart-topping hit "Doin' What She Likes," which earlier this year became his 11th No. 1 hit in a row. Both songs are from his 2013 album Based on a True Story.

"My Eyes" is also the fifth No. 1 radio hit from Based on a True Story-the rest have included "Doin' What She Likes," "Boys Round Here," "Sure Be Cool If You Did" and "Mine Would Be You."

In discussing that album earlier this year, producer Scott Hendricks told Radio.com that "we honestly set out to make what we wanted to be the album of the year, and we set our standards high on the songs." more on this story

Jeezy Releases New Song Featuring Jay Z
(Radio.com) Following his announcement that the album Seen It All will drop from Def Jam on Sept. 2, Jeezy has released the album's title track. And, surprise: it's got a feature from Jay Z.

The track is produced by Cardo (Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill) and was originally meant for Jay's release, Magna Carta Holy Grail, according to Hot New Hip Hop, but didn't make the cut.

It's still a strong enough beat for Mr. Carter to guest on, though, and the duo takes on the old days of slinging snow to get that dough before they made it in the rap game. It's a song of bonafides.

This follows the artist formerly known as Young Jeezy's earlier release of the album's lead single "Me OK" in May. "My fifth album is entitled Seen It All because I feel like I've been through a lot and I've seen a lot, and I'm still standing here and I'm still standing tall," the rapper born Jay Jenkins told Atlanta's V-103 (a Radio.com station) last month. "That's what it is, man."

Carrie Underwood Helped Create 'Somethin' Bad' Video
(Radio.com) Carrie Underwood not only lent her vocals on "Somethin' Bad" with Miranda Lambert, it turns out she also helped write the music video treatment.

CMT recently spoke with Trey Fanjoy, the director of the video, who said that Underwood's initial idea was to take the stereotypical male roles in film and switch things up.

"We wanted to have Miranda and Carrie take on those iconic moments, instead of George Clooney and Brad Pitt, like in Ocean's Eleven," Fanjoy told CMT. "But then Carrie had all these amazing ideas. She wrote her own treatment, and it was the first time she'd done that. Her initial treatment - with photos - was 11 pages of ideas. And my job as a director was just to interpret and filter those ideas to fit it in the 2:49 minutes we had. Carrie had so much great imagery for me to look at. She threw her whole heart into this."

Fanjoy said that it was Underwood's idea to have a high-stakes poker game, motorcycles, explosion, helicopter and a mug shot scene in "Somethin' Bad." She added that years ago, when filming "Mama's Broken Heart," Lambert had expressed her desire to work with Underwood in the future. more on this story

X Files and Californication Star David Duchovny Releasing Debut Album

The actor told Rolling Stone, "I've always written poetry for better or worse and once I started playing music, I started thinking, 'Gee, I should be able to write lyrics.' And I just fell backwards into the whole thing.

"It's just been a real pleasure in my life, regardless of who buys it and what people think of it when it comes out. It's been a lifesaver just to be able to play music, write songs and think about singing songs to friends."

Adventure Club Brings Pop-Punk Roots To New Album
(Radio.com) Listening to the rolling EDM sounds of Canadian duo Adventure Club, one might be hard-pressed to hear elements of the group's roots in the emotive rush of pop-punk and hardcore music.

Taking to Christian Srigley and Leighton James about the band's upcoming debut album, however, there's a good chance those rock-leaning influences will shine through, thanks to some proposed collaborations on the full-length.

"We're going to collab again with Yuna," James revealed when asked about the status of the album, referring to the vocalist who appears on such previously released Adventure Club tracks as "Gold" and "Lullabies." "We're going to collab with some of our friends from the pop-punk hardcore scene. Maybe Tyler Carter from Issues, maybe Oliver (Sykes) from Bring Me the Horizon. As far as the other guys go, I don't think we're really at liberty to say just yet."

While there's no release date set for the album's release, the duo have been hard at work on it, saying that they've got "a lot laid out, we just have to finalize the tracks."

In the meantime, fans can catch Adventure Club on tour this summer, with dates including stops at the Global Dance Festival in both Colorado (July 18) and Kansas City (July 19) and Chicago's North Coast Music Festival (August 30). See the band's current itinerary here.

All three get a chance to show off, but it's A$AP Ferg talking about a girl with a booty like J.Lo who won't settle for Christian Louboutins while giving us a taste of his Spanish that is the clear standout here.

The track, produced by Salva and Nick Hook, will be featured on Nas' label imprint Mass Appeal's new compilation, Mass Appeal Compilation Vol. I. The album will also feature tracks from Pusha T, Juicy J, Pimp C, YG, Mac Miller, along with a few new Nas-approved artists like Boldy James, Fashawn and Bishop Nehru.
