(Audio Aggression) Despite the success of Apple's iTunes Music Store, pressure from record labels may force Apple to change not only their business model, but also their pricing structure. The New York Times is reporting that Sony BMG and Warner Music Group (WMG) aren't happy with the one-price setup that iTunes currently has. The labels are proposing a pricing structure that will price songs by their popularity. The newer, more popular, songs could sell for as much as $1.49, while older, less popular, songs will continue to sell for 99 cents each. [see full story for more] - Click here for the Full Story

Absolutely ridiculous. As someone pointed out in the comments on the original story, upping the digital price of new CDs means paying to download it will cost the same as or more than it would to buy the physical CD, and you get less for the money. (At least, IMO... if I'm going to pay through the nose for a CD, I want liner notes and a nice case)
