James
Brown Rape |
AP reports: A woman has filed a federal lawsuit
claiming that famed rhythm and blues singer James Brown is to blame for
her suffering from Graves' disease because he raped her at gunpoint in
South Carolina in 1988.
A lawyer for Brown called Jacque Hollander's
allegations "rag sheet fodder," adding that the woman's claims were dismissed
as frivolous by judge in 2002 who also cleared Brown of another woman's
sexual harassment allegations. [see full story for more]-

Sam
Jackson vs 50 Cent |
Contact Music reports: SAMUEL L JACKSON has
turned down the chance to work with one of his movie icons - because it's
in a film starring 50 CENT.
The actor has always wanted to work with
Irish movie-maker JIM SHERIDAN and was thrilled when he heard he was being
targeted for a new film by the IN AMERICA director - and then he realised
the role was opposite rapper 50 Cent in his movie debut.
The actor has been extremely vocal about
sharing the stage with unproven actors, and felt he had to turn down Sheridan's
offer. [see full story for more]- Click

Kid
Rocks Bush |
Blabbermouth reports: Ron Strom of WorldNetDaily.com
is reporting that KID ROCK, a popular vulgar rock-rapper whose lyrics wouldn't
begin to pass muster with the Federal Communications Commission, is headlining
the youth concert during the inauguration festivities for President Bush
— a politician who was re-elected largely due to the participation of traditional
"values voters."
The Detroit-based rapper, who dedicated
his first album to songs about oral sex and who was voted the Sluttiest
Male Celebrity at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, will perform Jan. 18
at the Washington, D.C., Armory in a concert hosted by Bush daughters Jenna
and Barbara. Teenage singer JoJo also will appear at the event. [see full

Metallica
Ripoff |
Blabbermouth reports: More than six months
after METALLICA's concert in Croatia was cancelled due to "insurmountable
technical difficulties," the group's fans who purchased tickets to the
show have yet to receive refunds from the concert organizers, according
to the Croatian newspaper Vjesnik.hr.
METALLICA devotees paid as much as 330
kuna (approx. $57) for an opportunity to see the group perform live — a
substantial amount in a country where the average monthly income is said
to be less than $700.
The organizers of the ill-fated concert
had previously promised the ticket-holders that they would receive a refund
by the end of 2004. However, in a brand-new statement posted on their web
site, Impresario.hr, the concert promoters, Tvrtka Impresario, attribute
the continued delay to the fact that their international partner is refusing
to cover any of the costs incurred in organizing the event. [see full story
