Gigwise reports: Stadium rock super heavyweight
Meat Loaf was last week involved in a jet drama after a plane he was on
skidded off the runway at Manchester airport.
The ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ star was on board
a privately hired Eastern Airways Jetstream 41 from Hamburg to Manchester
last Tuesday when it left the runway during it’s attempts to land. Airport
officials originally refused to confirm he was onboard but his press agents

liveDaily reports: The Chicago area will be
the site of the 20th anniversary Farm Aid concert, co-founders Willie Nelson
and John Mellencamp announced Monday (7/11).
This year's show is set to take place Sept.
18 at Tinley Park, IL's Tweeter Center, the site of the first Farm Aid
Concert in 1985. (The venue was known at the time as the New World Music
Theatre.) Tickets will go on sale July 30, organizers said.[see full story

Blabbermouth reports: An American singer has
not given up finding a home in New Zealand after officials turned down
his application to buy a west coast beach property.
Serj Tankian from the band SYSTEM OF A
DOWN told the Herald he was "pretty disappointed" the Overseas Investment
Commission rejected his proposal to buy a mainly bush-covered 13.69ha site
in Bethells Beach.
"I have learned an important lesson. I
cannot place myself in any situation where someone else's decisions will

Director/writer/actor Kevin Smith, loyal

will guest star on

arc of the cable TV program "Degrassi: The Next Generation." Smith and
Mewes will appear as themselves portraying their cult-classic creations

in the so-called "New Jersey" series), while Morissette will step down
off the heavenly cloud she inhabited in "Dogma" to play the only high school

AP reports: A financial company specializing
in asset acquisition sued Michael Jackson on Monday, saying it is owed
$48 million in fees for rescuing the singer's stake in the publishing rights
to songs by the Beatles.
Prescient Acquisition Group Inc. said in
its lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan that the pop music celebrity
enlisted it in November 2004 to provide financial advice and to secure
