KNAC reports: Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the Forum section of the band's website www.megadeth.com: Here is a surprise for you . . . we are going to have our first fan fair next year, and will probably include a chance to jam with us. Ya see, Seymour Duncan threw a great bash this year, and I loved it so much that I wanted to duplicate it, which means a select few of you who come will be staying in my little town in San Diego County, we will hang out and do stupid stuff like pictures, signing, auctions of private collectables, trading and what not for the night and then you Droogs can take turns getting up and jamming with us.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Green Day Short Film
punkbands reports: Veteran video director Samuel Bayer no longer considers "Wake Me Up When September Ends" his crowning achievement. "I'm gonna say that the greatest Green Day video that's ever been done has been shot and I have it," Bayer revealed Wednesday, and he wasn't referring to "September".

"A lot people say that 'Jesus of Suburbia' is their favorite song, and maybe this is the conversation that destroys my relationship with Green Day [for talking about it in advance], but talk to the guys about it because it is the most powerful ... wow, I feel weird saying this stuff. It's a cool video. It's done. Yes there is a 'Jesus of Suburbia' video."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Willie Nile Release
conqueroo reports: Willie Nile has completed Streets of New York, his first album since 1999’s acclaimed Beautiful Wreck of the World. In what U2’s Bono has called “a great album . . . the songs all stand on their own,” Nile has crafted what many feel is the best album of his career. The album is set for a January 31 street date, launching the new Brooklyn-based 00:02:59 label, distributed by Sony BMG Distribution.

Praise for Nile’s new effort comes from a number of legendary artists. Lou Reed, for instance, calls Streets of New York “a great album.” Graham Parker opines: “Willie Nile’s Streets of New York is a real gem – stirring melodies, passionate vocals, intriguing lyrics . . . every track a winner.” Lucinda Williams comments: “Willie Nile is a great artist. If there was any justice in this world, I’d be opening up for him instead of him for me.” Ian Hunter says: “Willie’s from the big-hearted downtown alleyways of NYC (New York commitment). Well done!” And Little Steven adds: “Willie Nile is so good I can’t believe he’s not from New Jersey!”[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Ester Drang Release
Press Release reports: On January 24th, Jade Tree will proudly release the third full length from Ester Drang, /Rocinate/, an album that catapults the band even further into their patented synth-dripped rhythms, throbbing percussion, rising horns and post-gazer grandeur, having as much in common with Coldplay’s mournful drone as they do The Arcade Fire’s passionate textures. /Rocinate/ affords these Oklahomans the freedom to orchestrate their imagination into a beautiful ensemble of tracks;proving that songs not only have the power to elevate, to leave you infiltrated, but when properly strung together can be as transcendent as they are moving.- Click Here for the Full Story
