(TMZ) America's shocking decision to vote Mandisa off 'American Idol' Wednesday night was not a shock at all to those backstage. Sources connected with 'Idol' tell TMZ the buzz behind the scenes last night was Mandisa getting the boot had nothing to do with her performance -- it was all about her openly anti-gay affiliations.

Actually, the larger voting constituant to american idol tends be be people who claim to be conservative christians. Heck, look at all the past idol stars. Most of the idols who have won thank God and are open about their faith. Why I wonder do those southerners keep winning. Hmmm, I think the gay vote is a lot less influentle than you think. They still make up a small percentage of the population wether you choose to accept it or not.
