THE BRUISER is the title of the new album
by Chris Paul Overall. Former frontman of the melodic dropkick-rock band
Wonderlove, CPO has cracked open the aftermath and come out with his finest
sensibilities intact. A friend who was tragically taken before his time
offered this powerful observation a few years back. "He referred to me
as a bruiser with relationships. Part love bully and part bullied lover."
This album, Overall explains, is a tribute to the frank resonance of that
moment - a reflection of how a candid look at a mixed up state of affairs
can result in music rather than meltdown. These songs are as easy to listen
to as they are a hard-hat trip into the depths of heart mine. The formidable
pipes that carry the motherlode of the Chris Paul Overall sound have drawn
in critics and fans alike. Secure within his own voice, his inspired singing
gives off undercurrents reminiscent of soulful troubadours of the past.
From the swagger of "push" to the breezy lope of "I love you still" these
are the kind of melodies that will come in through the sliding glass door
in your head and stay for a drink. [see full story for more]-

Refund |
TMZ reports: Mandy Moore said in a recent
radio interview that her first album -- recorded when she was 14 -- "sucked,"

World Famous KROQ-FM to discuss her role in the flick 'American Dreamz.'
he 22-year-old also chatted about her history as a pop princess. Leave
it to Moore's superfan (and Kevin and Bean sidekick) Dave the King of Mexico
to ask for his $7.99 back (he says he bought it used, hence the price).
That's were the publicity stunt ends, right?

Meeting: Dolly |
antiMusic reports: A lot of people work hard
to make antiMusic what it is. So with our 8th anniversary we felt it was
time to spotlight each writer so you can get to know them a little better.
Over the next few weeks we will be posting a small portion of each staff
person's new profile page. So let's begin and get to know Dolly a little
better.
Dolly is from parts unknown and has been
with antiMusic since before time began. The first CD she purchased was
'The All Star Stapler & Office Supply Band Tribute to ABBA' and her
first concert was 'Richard Jeni at the Funny Bone in Chicago'. When asked
for her Top 10 Favorite artists she responded "Generally, whoever wins
the countdown on MTV these days; they are the only bands worth listening
to. So my musical tastes shifts & changes from day to day & week
to week. I really like it when TV stars & people famous for nothing
at all & people famous for who they married make music, because it
kinda reminds me of when that guy played basketball & football, or
like when someone is a doctor and a lawyer, y'know? They are the real powerhouses
of the entertainment universe". Her musical pet peeve is that there are
not enough songs that go along with her whims. Her favorite part of antiMusic
is The Message Boards. Click the full story to learn more about Dolly and
discover which star she would slap, who she "can't write anything about"
because she can't afford the licensing fee and lots more.
