Blink Fight!
TMZ reports: [we couldn't resist this one..]When Hollywood couples move to Splitsville, it never seems to be a smooth transition. The recent split between Blink 182's Travis Barker and wife and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler is no exception, and now the split has spilled into MySpace.

Shanna "officially" commented on the split last Tuesday on her MySpace page, telling fans that she was devastated by the demise of her marriage. Now, following in her footsteps, Travis Barker has lashed back with a detailed blog on his MySpace page describing in his opinion what life with the Barkers was actually like and what it was that he says wrecked their marriage.

Travis says at one point he found condoms at his house and says "we don't use condoms ever." He talks about her alleged partying and claims that a "normal" day is him and the kids getting up around 7 a.m. while Shanna sleeps in until 2 p.m The nanny, who he says the kids often call "mommy," gets the kids ready for the day while Shanna takes care of more important things like getting her nails done. Barker also says his wife didn't tell him about her turn on "Dancing with the Stars." [see full story for more] [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

RIAA Drops Dead Case
music.tinfoil reports: BoingBoing's Cory Doctorow writes: Today, an RIAA spokesperson, Jonathan Lamy, contacted me today with this statement: Our hearts go out to the Scantleberry family for their loss. We had decided to temporarily suspend the productive settlement discussions we were having with the family. Mr. Scantleberry had admitted that the infringer was his stepson, and we were in the process settling with him shortly before his passing. Out of an abundance of sensitivity, we have elected to drop this particular case.

I wrote back to ask him this followup question: Where was the "abundance of sensitivity" when the RIAA failed to initially drop its case against the Scantleberry family following the death of the named defendant in the case? Given that this "abundance" only materialized within 24 hours of this story hitting several large news outlets and blogs isn't it fair to say that the RIAA is demonstrating sensitivity to its public image, and not its sensitivity to the Scantleberry family?[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Madonna Hate Crime?
E! reports: If Madonna doesn't change her ways, she could be going from "Hung Up" to locked up. German prosecutors have announced plans to monitor the erstwhile Material Girl's Sunday concert in Duesseldorf to see if she goes ahead with the mock-crucifixion routine that has been drawing religious ire since her Confessions tour kicked off in May.

If Madonna goes through with the Jesus-channeling act and the locals find it insulting, she could face a maximum sentence of three years in prison. Meaning, Madonna's next reinvention could be as an inmate.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Warped Crashers
PR reports: DC-based Hotspur, recent loser of the Warped Tour Battle of The Bands, won't take rejection sitting down. "We had a ton of plays in that contest, more than a lot of bands. We didn't win. So, we had to take matters into our own hands." Appearing at The Nissan Pavilion on August 10th, uninvited, with their merch mannequin, Jenna, the band wove through the crowd, selling CDs to concert-goers, and soliciting people waiting in signing lines at merch tables. After selling over 100 copies of their new album 'Beta' and slowing down the lines for other bands, Hotspur were eventually confronted by an irritated Armor For Sleep. After winning them over, and selling their album to the entire crew from The Academy Is, Hotspur continued their sales pitch to fans and artists alike, eventually selling out their CDs and tickets for their upcoming radio showcase on Thursday.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Blind Melon Reissue
blabbermouth reports: BLIND MELON's "Live at the Palace" CD will be reissued on October 17 with expanded packaging on Capitol/EMI.

Recorded in Los Angeles on October 11, 1995, BLIND MELON's "Live at the Palace" CD captured the band at their creative and dynamic peak: the group was touring in support of their second album and had hit its collective stride. It would turn out to be BLIND MELON's swan song, as their charismatic frontman Shannon Hoon would only live 10 days longer, felled by drug addiction. Now, the group's surviving members - bassist Brad Smith, guitarists Christopher Thorn and Rogers Stevens and drummer Glen Graham - have updated the CD release with expanded packaging that includes intimate liner notes by Stevens and never-before-seen tour photographs by Danny Clinch.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
