Hammerfall Olympics
Blabbermouth reports: HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posed the following message on the band's official web site:

"In preparation for the Olymic Games in February, we joined forces with one of Sweden's brightest hopes for a gold medal: The Women's Curling Team. They won both the World and the European Championship in 2005, and are now looking to make it a triple with an Olympic victory as well. In order to secure that, they have enlisted the musical inspiration of HammerFall in the form of 'Hearts On Fire', for which a video was recorded last week. Silvertide Trapt
Audio Aggression reports: Silvertide have added a handful of dates to their schedule. The band will be supporting Trapt from February 14th through the 24th. Thousand Foot Krutch will open on those dates. The band's current schedule looks like this:

Byzantine Update
Prosthetic Records reports: West Virginia's Byzantine has unveiled its latest music video, the Donnie Searls-directed "Jeremiad," on the band's official website, http://www.byzantine1.com. The track is the first from 2005's ...And They Shall Take Up Serpents to receive the video treatment, and comes hot off the heels of critical praise for the band's progressively thrashy sophomore record. 

The progressively-minded thrashers will also be supporting Shadows Fall on an upcoming run of tour dates, bringing the band's live show to a whole new slew of concertgoers. [see full story dates]

Adrenaline PR reports: Mike Spreitzer, Jeff Kendrick, and Jon Miller will be doing signings at the ESP Guitar booth on Friday and Saturday (1/20 and 1/21) at 2pm to 3pm.

IN OTHER NEWS…ANTHRAX BOULDER SHOW CANCELLED

Tonight's show at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO has been cancelled. The stork came a little early and Charlie's wife Sandra is now in labor. Charlie's rushing back to Chicago and we'll rush back to Colorado as soon as we can to make up the show, baby stroller in tow. Until then, please keep the Benantes in your thoughts and prayers.

Blind Faith DVD
Noble PR reports: Blind Faith's debut gig was in front of a cool 100,000 people on a warm day in Hyde Park. Since 7th June, 1969 when this concert took place, it has never been seen in its entirety. This is a unique opportunity to see the world's first Supergroup perform for the very first time. Sanctuary Visual Entertainment will release "Hyde park 1969" the DVD on 10th April 2006. 

The DVD "Hyde Park 1969" also boasts archive footage of the various members of Blind Faith performing within their earlier musical guises. Deicide Preview
earache reports: The Floridian death metal behemoth that is Deicide have unveiled the title of their latest album... Entitled "The Stench of Redemption", the record will be the first Deicide album to feature new guitarists Jack Owen (formally of Cannibal Corpse) & Ralph Santolla (ex Death / Iced Earth) who have been touring in the band since the departure of the brothers Hoffman in 2005.

In total, 10 instrumental songs have been demoed and Glen Benton is currently locked away working on suitably sick vocals / lyrical themes to rival the brutality of the compositions.An untitled demo track from 'The Stench Of Redemption' can be heard on Deicide's new Official MySpace Page:- Click Here for the Full Story

Special Ops reports: Rhino Entertainment presents 2 CD reissue releases of Crosby, Stills, & Nash’s 2 greatest albums. Both in stores on January 24th! As one of rock’s first supergroups, former Byrd David Crosby, Buffalo Springfield's Stephen Stills, and former Holly Graham Nash came together in 1969. 

1. Crosby, Stills, & Nash - Originally released on May 29, 1969, Crosby, Stills, & Nash remains one of rock 'n' roll's most impressive debuts. The Grammy®-winning album introduced the world to the trio's airtight harmonies and versatile songwriting with classics like "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Marrakesh Express," and "Long Time Gone.". This expanded and remastered edition includes three previously unreleased recordings and a Stephen Stills acoustic version of "Everybody's Talkin'." Liner notes by Rolling Stone editor David Fricke. 

2. Daylight Again - Released in 1982, Daylight Again presents CSN reunited more than a decade after their debut and features the Top 40 singles "Southern Cross" and "Wasted On The Way." This expanded and remastered edition includes four previously unreleased bonus tracks, including Crosby's original demo for "Might As Well Have A Good Time" and the Stills-Nash anthem "Raise A Voice." Mason Jennings Goes Major
Epic reports: Minneapolis singer/songwriter Mason Jennings will officially launch Isaac Brock's (Modest Mouse) label, Glacial Pace/ Epic Records, with the release of his major label debut this spring. Mason will preview new songs for fans with special solo shows starting February 3rd at the University of Wisconsin Steven's Point.
