Revelations |
PR reports: Epic Records has announced a September
5th release date for REVELATIONS, the highly anticipated new album from
multi-platinum rock band AUDIOSLAVE.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone.com,
guitarist Tom Morello described the record as "Led Zeppelin meets Earth,
Wind and Fire," adding that it's a "big hard rock record with a funky bottom."
Among the album's many highlights is the groove-driven lead single, "Original
Fire," and "Wide Awake," about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. "It's
probably Audioslave's most political song to date," says Morello. [see

Converge |
antiMusic reports: Converge are hard at work
on their new studio album. The band issued a studio update on Monday letting
fans know that the drum and bass tracks are done and work is underway on
guitar and vocals but the big news came in the form of the band receiving
a little help from their friends. The CD is set to feature a plethora of
guest performances. Here is what the band announced.
We've had some guests perform on the album
so far: JR Conners (ex Cave In, now of Doomriders) and Alex Garcia-Rivera
(Bloodhorse, ex-454 Big Block, ex-GUTG) added a bit of percussion during
a recent session. Kurt and Jake also added a bit of percussion as well
during that session. Vocally, Jonah Jenkins (Septic Youth Command, ex-Only
Living Witness, ex-Miltown, etc) will be contributing shortly, as well
as Kevin Baker (The Hope Conspiracy). We all excited to have those two
aboard as guests on this recording. It means a great deal to us.-
