The Stain Vs Staind No More
Submitted News reports: After a three and a half year legal battle over the name THE "STAIN", Jon Stainbrook's band THE STAIN has settled their court case with STAIND. Founded by Stainbrook in 1980, THE STAIN has been performing live shows and received worldwide acclaim for music used in TV, video, and DVD for national and international markets. THE STAIN was also the stage band for Howie Mandel, as part of his act during two tours. THE STAIN's recordings have been used by ESPN, MTV, Disney, FOX, Mountain Dew, Jose Cuervo, Coke, Budweiser, BASF, and Nissan.

Stainbrook registered a trademark for THE "STAIN" with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In 1999, Stainbrook and STAIND entered into a licensing agreement, which granted STAIND the right to use Stainbrook's internationally established, well-known, and federally registered trademark for THE "STAIN" for promotion of STAIND. THE STAIN retained sole rights to their music and publishing. In 2003, STAIND sued Stainbrook in a New York Federal Court over the 1999 licensing agreement in an attempt to cancel Stainbrook's rights in the trademark. Judge Miriam Cedarbaum, the presiding judge in the Martha Stewart stock scandal, ruled in favor of Stainbrook. [see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Wayne "The Train" Hancock Tour
conqueroo reports: Wayne "The Train" Hancock well may be the touring-est artist in America. At 200 to 250 nights of touring per year, Hancock saves a lot on air conditioning, sheets and groceries. (Gas on the other hand is a whole 'nother story.)

This fall, he'll be out there in support of his forthcoming Bloodshot Records album titled Tulsa. The album, due out next Tuesday, October 10, pays nod to the spirit of Bob Wills, Herb Remington and the Cain's Ballroom sound with 14 new original songs. There's still plenty of ragin' rockabilly and trad country - just the welcome addition of a clarinet or two. Hank III says of Wayne: "Wayne Hancock has more Hank Sr. in him than either I or Hank Williams Jr." [see full story for dates] - Click Here for the Full Story

Rose Hill Drive Who
Megaforce reports: It was a moment of elder rock legend anointing a young and burgeoning rock band named Rose Hill Drive. After a blistering set from the young trio at Rachel Fuller's "In The Attic" show at Chicago's House Of Blues on September 28, Rose Hill Drive closed the show with The Who's legendary guitarist Pete Townshend joining them on stage. Pete jammed on RHD's "Raise Your Hands" and after finishing, the riffs of "Young Man Blues" came out of Pete's guitar and it was off to the races with vocals provided by RHD's lead singer. It was a 10 minute jam with Pete and Rose Hill Drive's lead guitarist trading back and forth, one playing rhythm and one playing lead. The final song of the evening involved all performers singing "I Am One" with Rose Hill Drive playing and Pete on acoustic guitar.

After spending the last couple years building an enormous underground buzz with thrilling live shows, the Boulder-based trio Rose Hill Drive have been touring in support of their August 22nd debut self-titled release on Megaforce Records. The band will head to the UK for more dates with The Answer co-headlining: (and also support the Who on several dates - see the full story link for all of the dates] - Click Here for the Full Story

Pat Travers DVD
MVD reports: PAT TRAVERS BAND - HOOKED ONMUSIC - Despite a plethora of live albums there has been very little concert footage of Travers available. Shot on 11th April 1976 in Kln, Germany this is a classic document of the early stages of Travers rise to international fame. Playing as a three piece he and his band set the standard for generations of guitar hero wannabes. A dazzling yet strangely understated performance, this was a tantalizing taster for what was to follow. Hooked on Music is an impressive insight into a man who has become a bona fide rock guitar virtuoso. MVD will release this on Nov 21st.- Click Here for the Full Story

In the 90s, they took on a strong dance element and suddenly found themselves aligned with the club culture movement. Their most successful songs, including "All Together Now", blossomed in this era.
