The "radio spot" that is now being streamed via the band's MySpace page features clips of the first single Ghost Town, taken from the band's debut album, Charred Walls of the Damned.

"I am beyond excited about how the Charred Walls of the Damned album turned out. Tim, Steve and Jason all did an amazing job and I can't wait for people to hear it! The songs are super heavy and melodic at the same time, and I think my fellow Metalheads will be pumped when they hear the album" comments drummer and founding member Richard Christy.

Vocalist Tim "Ripper Owens adds, "WellI must say, I'm not sure what people are expecting from this CD. Apples in stereo's Robert Schneider Starts A New American Revolution
Lo-fi heavy psych-pop acid rockers Thee American Revolution began as a home-recording collaboration between Elephant 6 co-founder Robert Schneider and brother-in-law Craig Morris. Schneider is best known as front-man of The Apples in stereo, and producer of many beloved records, including both Neutral Milk Hotel albums.

According to legend, Thee American Revolution came together under the tutelage of W. Shears, a secretive British musician primarily active during the 1960's who relocated to Kentucky (where the band lives). Joined onstage by a rotating cast of friends, including drummer Otto Helmuth (Blueberries), Bill Doss (Olivia Tremor Control) and John Ferguson (Big Fresh/The Apples in stereo), Thee American Revolution shred with chaotic exuberance.

The band's highly anticipated debut album is built upon slabs of fuzz guitar and reckless troglodyte drumming, soaked in Mellotron seas, bright harmonies and bursts of pure noise. The record joyfully explores the terrain between Blue Cheer and The Beatles, with songs ranging from druggy pop to sloppy biker-rock anthems. Featuring album artwork by W. Cullen Hart (Olivia Tremor Control/Circulatory System) and bearing the classic Elephant 6 logo, Buddha Electrostorm is certain to turn on fans of garage rock and psychedelic pop.

Aspera Turned InsideOut
InsideOutMusic is proud to announce the signing of the extremely talented progressive Metal band Aspera to a worldwide deal and the release of their debut album "Ripples" is now scheduled for January 25th, 2010.

These five aspiring musicians from Skien, Norway, are truly what can be described as 'youngsters' and 'newcomers', being just 20 years of age (all born in the last quarter of the year 1989!) and even only 18-19 years old whilst producing "Ripples". The name Aspera is taken from Latin and stands for 'thorns' or 'rugged ground', which describes the band's complex and colourful sound in an appropriate way.

Despite their young individual age, Aspera have gathered previous experience under the band name "Illusion" and shared stages in their native Norway with bands like Pagan's Mind, Circus Maximus or Audrey Horne and most recently also debuting internationally as support band for former Nightwish vocalist Tarja Turunen on two shows in Spain and one in Switzerland.

Call Him Dr. Paul Rodgers
There were five honorary degrees handed out during a special ceremony at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Friday 27 November. Among the recipients were singer-songwriter Paul Rodgers, who received a Doctor of Letters and The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, who received a Doctor of Laws.

All the honorary graduates spoke of their pride at receiving such an accolade in the year Teesside was crowned University of the Year in the Times Higher Awards.

Paul Rodgers said: 'Middlesbrough is where my roots are. I left when I was 17 and travelled all around the world, but I never dreamed I would be invited back to come and receive a doctorate I am very, very proud.' - more on this story

Great American Taxi Set New Album Release
In the past five years, Great American Taxi has become one of the best-known headliners on the jam band circuit, their uninhibited sound a swinging concoction of swampy blues, progressive bluegrass, funky New Orleans strut, Southern boogie, honky tonk, gospel and good old fashioned rock 'n' roll. That loose, anything-can-happen feel is the hallmark of Reckless Habits, the band's second album, which was recorded in Loveland, Colo., with producer Tim Carbone (from Railroad Earth) working together to bring the feel of an onstage performance to the recording process. Street date for the new album, which will be released through Thirty Tigers, is March 2, 2010.

When banjo player Mark Vann of Leftover Salmon died of cancer in 2002, the band lost momentum. Salmon singer/guitarist/mandolinist Vince Herman had a few rough years and survived a broken neck before joining keyboardist Chad Staehly for a superstar jam to benefit the Rainforest Action Group in Boulder in March 2005. "We put together a dream band of the best local musicians for a one-off gig," Herman recalls. "It worked so well we had to do it again, and again, and again." The band's current lineup includes Herman, Staehly, guitarist Jim Lewin, bassist Brian Adams and drummer Chris Sheldon.

Great American Taxi has been compared with roots rockers like New Riders of the Purple Sage, Grateful Dead, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, the Byrds and Little Feat. Herman finds the comparisons flattering. "We're definitely connected to all the acts in the country/rock spectrum, as well as the spirit of Gram Parsons and Woody Guthrie," he says. "We want to address the issues appropriate to our times, while making music that gets people up and moving."

I only wish we could go on tour with these guys forever! So come out to these shows if you're in town, it's seriously going to be a party 24/7. We'll be the ones suffering from the ITIS and passed out at our merch table from all the Garlic Parmesan wings we'll be consuming on this trip. B DUBS OR BUST!"

The Whittier based outfit released "Exist" in September, 2008. The band just wrapped up the The Flux Capaci-Tour through the west coast and southwest with Beg For Life. - more on this story

Miles Kurosky of Beulah Sets Solo Album Release
Miles Kurosky, former lead singer and songwriter of indie rock heroes Beulah, has announced that his first solo album, titled The Desert of Shallow Effects, will be released March 9 on Majordomo Records, an imprint of Shout! Factory.

Produced by Kurosky and engineered by former Beulah member Eli Crews (Deerhoof, Why?), The Desert of Shallow Effects is a meticulously crafted, ambitious gem, utilizing a cast of more than two dozen musicians (among them several ex-Beulah members) playing a vast array of instruments. The album release will be followed by a national tour.

For Kurosky, the six years since the demise of the San Francisco-based band have been the best and worst of times. Miles married a woman he met during the final Beulah tour, wrote the most personal and sophisticated music of his career, and recorded his first-ever solo album, The Desert of Shallow Effects. Along the way Miles suffered from severe shoulder problems that made playing the guitar impossible and required two reconstructive surgeries. Then, just as he was recuperating, he began to suffer from kidney problems that also required hospital time.
