Behold The Arctopus Lose Member
PR reports: Drummer Charlie Zeleny has parted ways with band Behold The Arctopus. In a statement from his website, Charlie says, "It's been 5+ years of crazy music, amazing fans and good times, but it's definitely time for us to part ways.

"These days I've been really into developing my career as a session drummer live and in the studio and as a drum solo artist. I'm also very excited to be working on some new projects with Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater and Terry Bozzio for the Drum Channel. I am really excited to focus more on my own online drum tracking business for artists all around the world which has already included Rudess, Blotted Science and Suspyre too. I wish the band the best of luck continuing on in the future without me and look forward to reconnecting with Arctopus fans on tour with other artists and bands soon, so stay tuned!" - more on this story

Every Avenue Tour
PR reports: Every Avenue has already started booking their tour schedule for 2009 and they have some pretty amazing stops on the list, including seven shows in the UK and Scottland with Metro Station and Boys Like Girls. The tour starts on January 24th and wraps up on January 31st.

Every Avenue has been exploding over the past few months breaking back into the Billboard Heatseekers Chart after a year of hardwork. Two of their music videos are currently in rotation on mtvU and their music can be heard on several popular MTV reality shows. [MTV has popular shows? Let alone reality ones?]

Hypothermia Tour 2009
PR reports: Glasgow Grin, featuring former members of Dear Black Diary, has announced their upcoming Hypothermia Tour 2009 with Serpent and The Siren. The tour will cross-cross Ontario throughout the month of January and February with more dates expected to be announced soon.

Glasgow Grin has also debuted new material online at www.myspace.com/glasgowgrin for fans. The tracks are taken from their Year of the Sun Records debut "Saints of the Greatest Sin". The album was recorded at Frozen Solid Studios with producer Matt Connell (Exhumed, ---- The Facts) and mixed by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me). "Saints of the Greatest Sin" is a concept record based around a serial killer who murders sex offenders and is pulled together by the chilling album artwork and an eight page short story contained in the liner notes

Blending Meshuggah's mathematical metal, Montreal Death Metal's instrumental brutality, the blistering blast beats of black metal and the catches and hooks of early metalcore The Serpent & The Siren are sizing up to be a formidable force in the Ontario metal scene. - more on this story

Brave Ink Anniversary CD Deal
PR reports: Washington, D.C.'s progressive/rock band Brave signs deal for a 10 year anniversary album with Femme Metal Records from England.

The album, entitled "Lost in Retrospect," will feature selected tracks from all of the Brave and Arise From Thorns (former band name) albums, including some songs that are long out of print. "Lost in Retrospect" is scheduled to be released February 20, 2009.

Brave's singer Michelle Loose said about the album "We are very excited about this collaboration for a 10 year anniversary CD with the new record label, Femme Metal Records. We can't believe we've been making music together for 10 years now and are glad to be able to re-release some of the older songs that have been long out of print. We are so happy to be working with Femme Metal Records and thank you for your support with this collaboration." - more on this story

John Lee Hooker Meets Johnny Rotten

The Lee Boys and The Travelin' McCourys Team Up For Tour
PR reports: The Lee Boys, a "sacred steel" sextet from Miami, and The Travelin' Mccourys, an all star off shoot of the legendary Del Mccoury Band, will join together for a half dozen tour dates in the Southeast beginning January 21st at the Georgia Theater in Athens, GA.

Zevon Wins Songwriting Competition
PR reports: Jordan Zevon wins the Overall Grand Prize of the 2008 USA Songwriting Competition along with co-writers Jordan Summers & Morty Coyle. His winning song home will be on the USA Songwriting Competition's compilation CD this year.

Jordan is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles won 1st Prize in the 2006 USA Songwriting Competition but was not placed in the Overall Grand Prize, Overall 2nd Prize and Overall 3rd Prize at that time. This year Jordan improved to the Top position.

He is signed to New West Records. His 2006 winning song "The Joke's On Me" is the first track on his debut album "Insides Out" with New West Records. He has also appeared on TV's "Late Night with David Letterman". - more on this story
