Injury on American Idol Stage
MTV reports: As if performance night for the "American Idol" top four weren't dramatic enough, just hours before Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta took the stage in Los Angeles, stage manager Debbie Williams was injured in a mishap on the show's giant staircase during dress rehearsal.

The staircase, which is supposed to retract as host Ryan Seacrest walks down it, reportedly folded too soon on Tuesday afternoon (May 5), and Williams, who was following Seacrest, tried to hold on but instead tumbled down the stairs. She suffered what was described as a "nasty gash" on her leg and was taken to a local hospital.

"We have had an unconventional day," Seacrest said at the top of Tuesday night's show. "Had a couple of things happen here on this set. Unfortunately we had an accident earlier here on our stage, but it didn't end there."

Are Fall Out Boy Cursed? Ask Their Witch Doctor
antiMusic reports: A bit of silly news to kick off this hump day courtesy of Jam!: Rockers Fall Out Boy have called in a witch doctor to banish a curse blighting their current U.S. tour.

The Dance, Dance hitmakers have suffered a run of bad luck on their current road trip, including several injuries to crew members, technical glitches, and a bout of severe food poisoning.

They eventually became convinced the tour is jinxed - so have called in the help of a medicine man to kill off the curse. And they are even taking matters into their own hands, making "reverse voodoo dolls" in a bid to turn their luck around. - more on this story

Sorum Says Guns N' Roses Reunion Should Include Him and Adler
Blabbermouth reports: Former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum thinks that, if the original band reunites, they should perform with both him and original drummer Steven Adler.

"If it's me on drums or Steven or whatever, if it happened, it'd be great, you know. I would actually say to them, 'Hey, bring both of us back,' you know. Let me play the other stuff. We'll have two drum kits. I don't care. If 'Appetite' ('For Destruction', the band's debut) sounds better with Steven playing it, have both guys up there. They can afford it."

Judging from Axl Rose's recent comments about his former band mates it doesn't seem likely that the original band will ever play together again. When questioned about the original band playing together again Rose said, "There's zero possibility of me having anything to do with Slash other than by ambush, and that wouldn't be pretty . . . (original drummer) Steven (Adler) brings assorted ambulance-chasing attorneys and the nightmare of his mother. One gig, or even a couple songs, could mean years of behind-the-scenes legal aftermath." - more on this story

Chris Cornell Likens Soundgarden Reunion Idea to Playing The Back of a Chinese Restaurant
antiMusic reports: Gibson.com has a new interview with Chris Cornell, here is part of the intro and an excerpt where he discusses his aversion to reuniting with Soundgarden. Here you go: we finally got him on the phone, pulled out our extensive list of queries and got maybe three in before he went on a monologue that lasted nearly 30-minutes, at which point his publicist jumped on the line and said it was time for his next interview. What can we say, the guy is a pro.
Fortunately, Cornell touched on all the things we were dying to ask him about anyway, such as the miracle of Twitter, the backlash against the new album and the general horrors of touring. Sadly, he didn't offer any advice for our ongoing battle with frizzy hair.

Why playing Soundgarden's rocket-fueled metal on the reunion circuit doesn't appeal to him: "That, to me, is similar to playing the back of Chinese restaurant. My heart needs to feel good while I'm playing a song. In order to play old songs from my history, I need to be able to also play songs from the present and songs that will literally turn into the future in a moment's notice. That does work for me." - He goes on to explain why his much hated hip-pop solo album was a good idea

Reznor Takes Bite Out of Apple
Rock Radio reports: Nine Inch Nails mainman Trent Reznor has slammed the people behind the Apple iPhone App Store for refusing to approve an upgrade to the NIN Access app - because of a naughty word which is allowed on iTunes.

All apps have to be approved by Apple before being made available on the App Store, which is part of iTunes. When an NIN Access update was submitted recently, it was refused due to the title of the track The Downward F*****g Spiral, which Apple said contained "objectionable content". But the track itself can be downloaded from iTunes, since the music part of the sale site has different standards.

Reznor says: "You can buy The Downward F*****g Spiral on iTunes, but you can't allow an iPhone app that may have a song with a bad word somewhere in it. Hey, Apple, I just got some spam about f*****g hot teens through your Mail program! Come on, Apple, think your policies ." - more on this story

Heaven and Hell Star Discusses Inspiration For New CD
antiMusic reports: Our friend Ross Cat over at bestofwny.com spoke with Heaven and Hell's Vinny Appice about the reformation of the famed incarnation of Black Sabbath and their brand new album. Here is an excerpt from the conversation:

Ross CAT- I read that DIO said that the song "Bible Black" was the catalyst track for the record and the rest of the album was built around that.

Vinny-That was in fact the first song written together when we decided to record a new album. The process with this band is pretty straight forward, we get together and let it flow and try not to compare it to anything else we've done together or individually. Once in a while after 5 or 6 songs are done we might go back to try and avoid any repetitive tempos or something that may sound familiar to another song. - Read the full interview
