Roger Waters Visits The Daily Show To Discuss The Wall |
Waters discusses a variety of topics with the host, including his relief and benefit work, plans for bringing his Wall tour to Europe, and how the iconic 1979 Pink Floyd album's message has changed over the years.
"The version of The Wall that I'm doing now differs from the one that I did with Pink Floyd in 1979, '80 in that it is far more universal in its message," explained Waters. "It's no longer about that miserable, self-serving, sniveling, nasty little Roger that we all hated all these years ago. It's more about ... rebellion that is trying to understand the world and, if possible, help people occasionally."
Stewart tossed Floyd fans a bone during the session by asking Roger, "Now, you're going back on the road with the remaining members of Pink Floyd, right?"
Waters flashed a smile and said, "This is how he makes his living. That is funny!"

Authority Zero Streaming Song From Forthcoming Album Online |
The group have premiered the first song from the album, "No Other Place," online and fans can stream it here.
The band recorded the album with producer Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Social Distortion, Motorhead) at Maple Studios in Orange County, California.
"The excitement and anticipation for the new album 'The Tipping Point' that I have is unparalleled," says vocalist Jason DeVore. "The closest thing I can think of is how I felt when we first released A Passage In Time so many years ago. You feel you're really doing something right when you and the members of your band are rocking out to it like it's their new favorite album that just came out. That's how it should feel. The energy, the intensity, and collaborative sounds along with a new realm of production working with Cameron Webb has made it extremely intense. It's a taste of the old school and slingshots into new areas and veins of music we have yet to tap into as well as some surprises. It's an album based on the idea of tipping the scales, unity, causing a ruckus while forging on, and the history and future of all who have been involved and will for years to come. We're fired up."

Singled Out: Tokyo Rosenthal |
The news has been full of stories of economic hardships, here and abroad, unfortunately for years now. Some are simpler then others, such as those simply losing their jobs, and others include a wide range of issues that not only encompass what has been caused by financial depression but issues that would and do exist even if the monetary climate was mild and stable. One such story caught my attention and led to the writing, recording and conceptual video of "What Did I Used To Be?", which is included on my latest album, "Tokyo's Fifth".
A Michigan native, who had been working on the assembly line his whole life was laid off, essentially fired. As the perfect storm of his demise unfolded, he found his home worth less then the mortgage balance and no way to continue payments regardless. As he lost his home the reality that he couldn't afford the exorbitant gas prices for his car hit him square in the face. Driving to search for a job in an area with poor mass transit became difficult. It also seemed that not only had his own job become obsolete along with the product he produced, but other possible employment from this area had been outsourced to the Philippines. Local retail had been outsourced onto the Internet as stores closed down around him. Credit was no longer available to him as his credit cards were shut off when he maxed out his line. Locally chaos ensued and it was every man for himself, not a friend to be found. He was told to reinvent himself. But he didn't possess those skills and he grew desperate. He began to wonder what he ever was and did he ever really exist. Finally, "He stared at his gun, asking himself, could this be the end?" He pulled the trigger, missed and survived to tell the tale and inspire my song and video.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself

Incubus' Mike Einziger Explains New Coheed and Cambria Track |
"Incubus just finished a long cycle of touring, and the word got around that I wanted to start producing other artists," Einziger said to Radio.com in an exclusive interview about the new song.
"Coheed & Cambria's manager asked me if I'd be interested in working with the band. The collaboration came about in a really organic way," Einziger explained. "Claudio (Sanchez), the singer of Coheed & Cambria, came out and stayed with me at my house in Malibu for a couple of days. We listened to a bunch of music and spent some time talking about it. He played me some of the music they'd been working on, and I picked out the song 'Dark Side of Me,' which the band and already written and recorded. I asked if we could do a different version of it. Almost like a remix, but an entirely different version of the song altogether, with new vocals. Claudio sang and played the guitar parts, and I did everything else. He gave me the freedom to do what I wanted with the song, and it came out great!"
