As Rolling Stone points out, the 34-track album (42 tracks if you get the bonus edition) is filled with well-known songwriters including Bob Dylan covering The Beatles' "Things We Said Today," Smokey Robinson singing the McCartney solo track "So Bad," Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees doing The Beatles' "When I'm 64," and Billy Joel, taking on two songs, "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Live and Let Die."
The comp also features covers from the likes of Willie Nelson, Alice Cooper, The Who's Roger Daltrey, B.B. King, Heart, Chrissie Hynde and KISS. This is certainly the kind of rock music Gene Simmons likes.
The record also features The Cure putting their own spin on The Beatles' "Hello, Goodbye," with Paul's son, James. Check out the tracklist for the covers album, out Nov. 18 in the U.S.,

In Plant's scheduled Facebook chat on Tuesday (Sept. 9), the Zeppelin frontman was asked if he had considered working with Jack White in the future. "I love Jack White's buccaneer spirit, and the way he dodges through the musical horizons," he responded. "I'd be happy to make a single with him."
In fact, he added that he'll be in Nashville this week - and has a song in mind. "I'd like to do a track called 'Love Me' which was originally recorded by The Phantom," he continued. "In fact, I'm going to Nashville on Sunday and can do it on Monday morning! I've got lunch with Alison Krauss at 2pm and cocktails with Patty Griffin at 8pm."

But the WWE star and Fozzy frontman says even if the original lineup didn't want to perform, something should have been put on for the fans. Jericho tells Loudwire: "It was a drag they didn't play, but inter-band politics are a strange thing. I just thought overall somebody should have played, put together an all-star band and play a couple of Kiss tunes."
Jericho is also critical of the Hall, saying Deep Purple should be in and that if past and present members of the E-Street Band can be inducted, so should former Kiss members including guitarist Bruce Kulick.
He continues: "The three bands that were omissions were Rush, Kiss and Deep Purple. Now two of them are in so Deep Purple has to be in - it's the most ridiculous thing if they're not.
"Bruce Kulick isn't in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, although he's sold tens of millions of records with Kiss. But the first E-Street Band drummer that played three gigs in Astbury park is up there."

And the new record, the follow-up to 2011's self-titled debut, has been made possible thanks to a successful crowdfunding drive. Cherone had the following to say:

Argent says on their PledgeMusic page: "One thing that's always been incredibly important to us is the creation of new music. We've done this for so many years and it still gives us the same buzz. TeamRock caught up with frontman Dolf de Borst for a quick chat about Bad Taste, its parent album, and what the hell his band have been up to recently
Q. You've mentioned Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and BOC as key influences upon the Deep Sleep: are these bands you loved in your teens or are they more recent discoveries? A: These are bands we have liked for a long time. There is much more to the new record than just those bands though. Once you start peeling back the layers on the new record there is much to discover.
Q. What can you tell us about Bad Taste? A: It was the first song we recorded for the new album. A great live tune with a cool riff and catchy singing. All you need for rock and roll!

"For performers who are also songwriters - the creators - for rock music, for soul, for the blues - it's finally dead," claimed the KISS bassist. "Rock is finally dead."
Simmons, who this fall will publish a marketing advice book, "Me, Inc.: Build An Army Of One, Unleash Your Inner Rock God, Win In Life And Business", also suggested kids give up trying to learn instruments or to attempt to make it in the music industry.

The beauty of the song, "Ready and Willing," is that both in lyrical content and upbeat exuberance the song doesn't capture New Found Glory aging at all. The band sounds every bit hopelessly romantic and boisterous as ever, which is just the way fans want their pop punk pioneers.
This all makes a bunch of teenagers depicting the band all the more believable for a split second, until you realize the Florida group formed in the late '90s.

In keeping with the original's throwback vibe, the video for "Where No Eagles Fly" seems like it could have come straight out of a time many decades ago, from Casablancas and co.'s retro clothing to the faded, blurred effect on the video.
Images of New York City flank the group as they pose for photos around town and play in decrepit old clubs. There's also some fairly cheesy '80s-esque video effects and transitions along the way.
If you're feeling good about the direction Casablancas is taking as he enjoys some time off from the Strokes, his solo album Tyranny is out Sept. 23. Watch the video

This song has some history with the band. It's the 2nd song on the new album and one of my favourites. It was also released on our 2nd ep 'Corned Beef Colossus' in 2013 and an original, totally different version was on a very early demo many moons ago.
Back in the day I was just rattling through some different bits on an acoustic guitar and fell upon the lead lick. It really caught my attention and within no time I had an acoustic song with some vocals pretty much down. I transferred it to electric and was listening to a lot of tool at the time so used a lot of variation with effect and delay. We used it on a very early demo that hopefully nobody still has! It's totally different to what it sounds like now.
The song had a lot going for it but the original composition and lyrics were pretty bad! Fast forward to 2012 when messing around at rehearsal I slowed the whole thing down with lots of distortion and it sounded heavy. The band loved it so Kip put new vocals over it and I added a solo as an outro. We took it out to Sweden and recorded it as slowed down baddas heavy brother of the original demo. The EP version is slower than we play it live but sounds great. We recorded the EP in Sweden by Truckfighters.
When we signed to Napalm and was working on our first full length 'Slab City' we picked a couple of tracks from previous releases and one of those tracks was 'Liquid Gold'. We wanted to have a new recording that reflected the way we play it live, much faster and more energy. I think this 'Slab City' version does that and it's cool to have the 2 versions of the song on record. Both are cool.
That's the story of Liquid Gold. Maybe we will release it again. Maybe a greatest hits! Haha!
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
