(PR) This is your heads, the second annual Canadian BLAST! at CMJ is just around the corner and here's your chance to hear the next great Canadian exports. Come out and catch some of the latest and greatest from the great white north when Canadian BLAST! takes over Arlene's Grocery (95 Stanton St.) on October 22nd.

Vancouver band Said The Whale (myspace.com/saidthewhale) will open the show with their balmy and engaging vocal harmonies and driving rhythms, followed by Montreal's Karkwa (myspace.com/karkwa) whose poetic French lyrics and melodic vibe could quite possibly have you dancing and tearing up at the same time. London, Ontario's Shad (myspace.com/shad), a hip hop artist drawing comparisons to Common whose debut video for the track "The Old Prince Still Lives At Home" boasts over 500,000 MySpace views will jump on the mic next and spin his clever and poignant rhymes before Toronto's The Midway State (myspace.com/themidwaystate) takes the stage with their catchy piano driven pop tunes and airy falsettos. St John's Hey Rosetta (myspace.com/heyrosetta) will close the show with infectious energy and layered sound, complete with piano, violin, and cello. These are five CMJ sets that you cannot miss.

Canadian BLAST! events at SXSW, Popkomm, London Calling and CMJ have generated major international attention for artists like The Cliks, The Golden Dogs, Malajube, and The Trews.
