Ryan Star To Debut New Video Today

10/21/2009
.
(PR) Mark Burnett Records/Atlantic recording artist Ryan Star has announced details of his new single. "Breathe" – which will be featured on the acclaimed rocker's upcoming debut album, entitled "11:59" – is available now at all digital retailers.

Currently impacting at multi-format radio outlets nationwide, "Breathe" will be accompanied by a truly provocative companion video. Directed by MTV VMA nominee, Jonathan Lia, the video is set to premiere on CNN.com/Live on October 21st during the 2pm broadcast. The clip sees Star addressing the rising tide of unemployment in the US, performing on the streets of New York among various real people, from all walks of life, who are currently unemployed. A dedicated website, located at www.breathe4jobs.com, will enable potential employers to contact the diverse individuals featured in the video.

"I wanted to do something more important than just another typical video," Star explains. "I wanted a video that was relevant and can make a difference in the real world. Our world. So when I started thinking of how to represent 'Breathe,' this idea made sense because unemployment is the common thread that I have been seeing everywhere I have been touring. It just feels to me that people everywhere need to hear a positive message, that things will all be ok and that we are here for one another."

A committed road warrior, Star is currently on tour alongside David Cook. The dates follow recent North American tours supporting such like-minded artists as Cook, Collective Soul, and Safety Suit.

The non-stop tour schedule heralds the release of Star's eagerly anticipated label debut, "11:59," which arrives everywhere early next year. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Matt Serletic (matchbox twenty, Collective Soul) with additional production by Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance), the album sees Star seamlessly melding traditional rock elements with captivating rhythms and resonant narratives. Thoughtfully and meticulously created, "11:59" highlights the Dix Hills, NY-native's stripped-bare vocal style and high-octane energy level.
