(Kayos) Although the weather's starting to get chilly, Eagle Rock Entertainment is positively blazing with Christmas spirit! To kick off the holiday season, a special digital-only holiday 4-song EP will be released on November 24.
This EP, available via all North American digital service providers, promises to deliver good tidings to all headbangers. It features appearances from Anvil's Steve "Lips" Kudlow on "Frosty The Snowman," Doro Pesch and Michael Schenker on "O Christmas Tree," Whitesnake's Doug Aldrich and DevilDriver's Dez Fafara on "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer," and Girlschool on "Auld Lang Syne," as well as other notable artists for a cornucopia of metal talent.
Continuing the Christmas cheer, Armoury Records, through Eagle Rock Entertainment, is happy to present We Wish You A Metal Xmas And A Headbanging New Year: an all-star collection of rock artists reinterpreting Christmas carols for a one-of-a-kind listening experience. Initially released October 14, 2008, this CD boasts members of Foo Fighters, Mφtφrhead, KISS, Dio, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, Anthrax, Queensryche, Ratt, and Alice Cooper, throwing down on such holiday classics as "Run Rudolph Run," "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "Deck The Halls," and "Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer." This compilation of epic collaborations was produced by Bob Kulick.
"The Metal Xmas album was a great opportunity to pay homage to my least favorite holiday," says Ronnie James Dio, "and what a lineup of musicians to do it with! The arrangements of the classic noel songs are fresh and heavy with rock'n'roll, and the performances are equally classic. It's a magical way to change your holiday listening."
