Gary Cherone Taking His Hurtsmile On The Road (A Top Story)
. Speaking to Mitch Lafon of Bravewords.com, Cherone said the band built off the musical tension between himself and his brother, guitarist Mark Cherone: "Mark and I have been very close, but musically there's always tension," he said. "The advantage of having your brother [in the band] is that I know him as well as he knows me. He knows my moods and I know his. I'll stay away from him when he's in a bad mood." Cherone has gone to great pains to assure fans that, unlike their mid-'90s breakup, this time Extreme isn't going anywhere. "Extreme is alive and well," he told Lafon. "Nuno [Bettencourt] and I are separate, but writing. We plan on recording this year and if the right tour comes up (like Whitesnake for example), Extreme will be on the road too." - more on this story Gibson.com is an official news provider for the Day in Rock.
