(Radio.com) AFI have inked a deal with Universal Republic Records that will power their ninth full-length studio album due this September. The as still-untitled album will be AFI's first album since 2009's Crash Love (released on Interscope).

Singer Davey Havok, guitarist Jade Puget, bassist Hunter Burgan and drummer Adam Carson called on an all-star production team that included producer Gil Norton (known for his work with Foo Fighters, Pixies and Patti Smith) and engineer Andrew Scheps (regarded for his Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers recordings).

"We are thrilled to be joining the Republic family for the release of our ninth record," Havok said in a press release. "We've spent over two years realizing this album and could not be more excited to share it with all."

Over the course of the past several weeks, AFI posted a series of five short, mysterious videos of themselves in and around the recording studio. The clips had the intended result; fans were sent into frenzy. more on this story
