Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon Goes 'On Strike' (Recap)
. These new revelations come from an interview with Rolling Stone, where Raekwon expressed frustration with the state of affairs within the group as well as Wu-Tang's long-awaited comeback album, A Better Tomorrow. "The bottom line: I'm not happy with that. I'm not happy with the direction of the music and I'm not happy with how dudes is treating dudes' business," Raekwon fumed. "What are we giving the fans? What are we giving the people that help us be here? If it don't feel right, I can't be fake. And I'm not the only one who feels like that. Fans want the best and I have to sit here and work that hard to give them the best. Period." At the heart of Raekwon's frustration is Wu-Tang producer RZA, saying that the long-revered producer has fallen off his game and delivering sub-par product. "RZA's the type of dude where, in the '90s, he ruled. Now it's a new day," Raekwon explained. "You're not attached no more. It's like being a coach and you won rings back in the day, but now your team is in ninth place. It's time for a new f-ing game plan." Raekwon pulls no punches when asked his opinion on recent Wu-Tang track "Keep Watch," the first single from A Better Tomorrow: "I hate it. I hate it. I don't hate sh-, but I hate that f-in' record. It ain't the gunpowder that my brothers are spitting; it's the production. And I ain't sh-ting on the producer because he's one of our soldiers. But if it ain't where it need to be It's 20 years later." - more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
