Rising Star Jarekus Singleton Inks New Record Deal

(The Blues) Rising star Jarekus Singleton has signed to Alligator Records for the release of his second album Refuse To Lose, due in May. The guitarist, singer and songwriter aims to capitalize on the critical acclaim he's already received with debut LP Heartfelt, which appeared in 2011.

That led to regular rotation on SiriusXM radio station B.B. King's Bluesville and three awards in his home state of Mississippi. The 29-year-old says: "Blues is honest music.

"I've always been inspired by the masters but I want to create something for today's audience that's as original and new as those masters were when they first started making records. I want to create blues for the 21st century." more on this story
