Coldplay's Chris Martin Buys Banksy's Heart Balloon (Recap)
Complex says that the piece, which was originally stenciled during Banksy's New York residency in 2013, was so admired that workers carved the stencil from the slab of concrete in Red Hook, Brooklyn in the middle of the night and took it to Miami to be auctioned off.
Banksy then created a new version of the revered street art on piece of wood, and was sold at the annual charity event, the Help Haiti Home Gala, to Chris Martin who paid $650,000 for the work. It couldn't be more Coldplay if it played "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" when you walked by. - more including a photo.
