Mastodon Release 'High Road' Video, Accepting Bitcoin For New Album
. The band is partnering with BitPay for the setup, making Mastodon the first major label band to offer their album through the service. The bitcoin news isn't the only thing Mastodon had on tap Wednesday. The band premiered the video for "High Road," the first single for the new album. "We're excited to work with fellow Atlanta-natives BitPay for our new album," the band noted in a statement. "We want to give our fans as many options to buy our new album as possible and are happy that bitcoin can be one of those choices." "BitPay is honored to partner with Reprise Records' artist Mastodon," BitPay executive chairman Tony Gallippi added. "Having a major label artist embrace bitcoin is a definite sign of bitcoin's growth and expansion into the world of music." Mastodon's decision to accept bitcoin for Once More follows 50 Cent's choice to do the same upon his album release last week.
