Singled Out: Mile Marker Zero's The Great Unknown
. Throughout the course of the past few years, we as a band have seen a great deal of changes occur. In ourselves, our band and the music industry in general. When writing "The Great Unknown", we wanted to have lyrics and music that set the stage for an experience. The song itself was intended to be a show opener. Massive drums, big guitars and an anthemic chorus. Overall, we wanted the song to be engaging and get people excited and pumped up for something big. When writing the lyrics I actually use quotes from other songs we've already released. Each verse line is actually a quote from an old Mile Marker Zero song. I was trying to subliminally showcase all our great, unknown work. The pre chorus, "this is something that you've never seen before", is the message we're trying to get across to everyone who hears the group. Pretty much saying, in a nutshell, that what they're hearing on this album is a sum of everything that came before for us as a band. That "it's too late, to turn back now"... so enjoy the ride. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
