(Radio.com) A life-size bronze statue of Amy Winehouse was unveiled in London on Sunday (September 14th), on what would have been the late singer's 31st birthday.

The statue was created by the London-based sculptor Scott Eaton and features the Back to Black singer with her trademark beehive and a bright red flower in her hair. According to the BBC, Eaton wanted the statue to capture her "attitude and strength, but also give subtle hints of insecurity."

"The hand on the hip, the turn of the head, the grabbing of the skirt, the turned in foot - these are all small elements that contribute to the personality of the piece," Eaton said.

Amy's parents attended the unveiling in Camden's Stable Market, with her father, Mitch Winehouse saying that seeing the statue was "incredibly emotional."

"It is like stopping her in a beautiful moment in time," Mitch said. "We really hope Amy's fans love the statue." Read more and see a photo here.
