Kelly Clarkson No Longer The Jilted Girl On Piece By Piece
. (Radio.com) In late 2012, Kelly Clarkson released Greatest Hits--Chapter One. The album was filled with breakup anthems including "Since You've Been Gone," "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" and "Don't You Wanna Stay." A little more than two years later, she returns with Piece By Piece, and songs for the dumped are not "top of mind" for her these days. She's happily married, is a very proud mom, and is stepmom to her husband's two children from a prior relationship. No longer the jilted girl, today she's a family woman. Everyone's happy to see her be happy; but how would that affect her music? Even she wondered about that a bit. "I thought I wouldn't be as exciting, I guess," she tells Radio.com. "But it's gone the opposite way: I feel far more passionate and open and vulnerable and willing to do more things." The first single, "Heartbeat Song," is a pretty rocking declaration that a breakup does not, in fact, signal the end of the world. Or even the end of your dating life. Radio.com spoke to the singer during her whirlwind press tour about the album, as well as the joys of recording whilst pregnant, her film debut (yep, From Justin To Kelly) and her Broadway aspirations.
