Dixie Chicks Cover Beyonce's 'Daddy Lessons'
.
(Radio.com) When Beyonce's Lemonade premiered on HBO, "Daddy Lessons" quickly gained attention as her first country song. It's one of the album's most lyrically and musically daring moments, showing that Bey's comfort zone is even more expansive than we imagined--and a trio of country music icons have taken note. During a concert in Manchester, England, the Dixie Chicks covered "Daddy Lessons" leaving little doubt that the song is real country. "Alright, hold the phone," lead singer Natalie Maines teased the crowd. "I've already messed this thing up. What's my melody on the first verse?" The arrangement stays true to Beyonce's album version, with Emily Robison and Martie Maguire backing up Maines. Check out a video of the cover performance here.
