Confirmed Guns N Roses to Reunite without Axl?

We reported yesterday about a rumored reunion between former Guns N Roses Members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum (see story below). antiMUSIC has learned from a source close to the musicians involved in this project that it is a done deal. However, our source, another well known musician who said he would rather remain anonymous, stipulated that he was told this by one of the above mentioned members a couple of days before this new group, code named Buck N Roses, decided not to proceed with Buckcherry vocalist Joshua Todd. So there goes the clever name.

The new group is said to be actively seeking a lead vocalist. It appears one of the top contenders is Shooter Jennings (son of country legend Waylon Jennings and frontman to L.A. Hard Rock outfit Stargunn). Shooter recently jammed with Slash and a few other musicians in a Los Angeles area club and was said to have nailed Axls vocals on the Guns N Roses songs the jam group performed with him.

Whether this project will last is another topic entirely since so many supergroups are born and then fade away before any material can be recorded or many concerts can be performed. But if this group does last, it promises to be an exciting development for Guns N Roses fans that may just give Axl Rose a run for his money if the elusive new Guns N Roses album Chinese Democracy ever sees the light of day.

The latest Guns N Roses rumor making the rounds has some of the groups former members forming a new band together without the bands frontman Axl Rose.

Although unconfirmed, a few music outlets are reporting that original Guns N Roses Guitarist Slash and Bassist Duff McKagan have teamed up with former drummer Matt Sorum and Buckcherry vocalist Joshua Todd.

Where these rumors started is unclear but for the moment none of the people involved have gone on the record denying these reports.  We will keep you Posted on developments to this story if there are any.
