According to the Sun report Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones had a meeting two weeks ago with the management company Trinifold and discussed the possibilities of doing a stadium tour next summer with the late John Bonham�s son Jason filling in for his famous dad. The tour if it goes off is expected to bring in about $10 million dollars.
Knowing the Sun, and a similar rumor that surfaced earlier this year, it would be wise to not get your hopes up until something �official� is announced. The Sun report had the requisite quote from an �insider� who reportedly told a Sun reporter, "If the right offer comes up they will do it."
Led Zeppelin disbanded shortly after drummer John Bonham died. Out of respect for their friend and bandmate, the members at the time felt that they couldn�t carry on as Led Zeppelin without Bonham. If the tour does end up happening, this would mark the first tour for Led Zeppelin since they disbanded in 1980, but it wouldn�t be the first reunion for the group. The surviving members did reunite in 1985 for an appearance at Live Aid and also in 1988 for Atlantic Records 25th Anniversary concert. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant teamed up in 1994 to record a MTV Unplugged concert and embarked on an international tour together the following year.
