Sonically PM5K has returned to the sound their fans have always preferred too, a pummeling electronic version of metal that earned the band a platinum award for sales of their breakthrough record Tonight the Stars Revolt!
Spider is the brother of Rob Zombie (Zombie's real name is Robert Cummings) and the siblings play music that is not dissimilar; "We Want It All" and "You're Gonna Love It, If You Like It or Not" in particular utilize the sing-song chant singing and lockstep rhythm that Zombie often favors. But the two acts are certainly not clones; "How to Be Human" is a synth-based rocker that boogies like ZZ Top on speed, "I Want to Kill You" is a slow acoustic guitar-based number with ominous lyrics made all the more chilling by the song's stripped-down, matter-of-fact delivery and the title cut is pure electro rock.
Of the 10 cuts here there are several that should get their fair share of airplay, the best of these being "Live it Up Before You're Dead," a synth rocker with a sing-along chorus and head bang-along rhythm that'll remind fans why they dug Powerman 5000 in the first place.
