antiGuy's Top 5
This Months | Previous
antiGUY gives his top 5 list of music stuff. Could be songs, people, a stupid trend... nothing is sacred to antiGUY

This Months Top 5
I'm a little late this month with the Top 5. Sorry, Eminem has kept me real busy keeping up with his legal troubles. The Top 5 I originally planned for this month has been shelved. I was talking with our managing editor the other day and he told about something that struck him when he was in an email exchange with someone over at VH1. The idea is simple, there are so many bands that have great histories, but have not had  "behind the music" episodes about them . So I thought it would be cool, to make a few suggestions and then let you guys make yours in the Fan Speak area. Keep in mind, with the fan speak that the artist should have a really cool story to tell. You know sex, drugs and of course rocknroll. Just cuz they are you favorite band, doesn't mean they have an interesting history. (I had to do the same, bummer). It's not like, the people at VH1 will pay attention, but hey you never know.

Top 5 (6) bands that should be on VH1's Behind the Music.

6) Moody Blues - My boss told me to put this one in. They are criminally under rated and a great band to listen to when your getting low.  =)

5) Enuff Z'nuff - You might not know about this band but they are perfect for Behind the Music. Their story includes, Sex with Madonna (including some golden showers), drugs, powerful personalities and politics with record companies (reads: screwed over).

4) Stone Temple Pilots - Now if there was ever a band just asking for a Behind the Music it is STP.

3) Nirvana - This one is so obvious, I don't know why they haven't done it yet.

2) Fleetwood Mac - With all the stuff that has happened to this band in their eight incarnations, they would have to make it a two-hour show.

And the Number one band that should be on VH1's Behind the Music

The Sex Pistols, These guys should have been one of the first!

Your turn, what bands do you think should have a Behind the Music Episode on VH1?

They call you
What do you think?:

Fan Speak:

Posted by meatmachine:
why the hell are they waisting there damn good time doing a BTM on Britney f*cking spears. Nirvana would make such an awsomely interesting btm

Posted by Old Man :
Ah! Slade! Feel The Noize!

Posted by Ally:
The Cure should have a Behind the Music. They were much more influential that any band you listed. They have no respect or appreciation.

Posted by Sheena:
Velvet Underground.

Posted by Melyssa:
The one that says Offspring and starts with " Come on" was by me, not them I made a mistake and didn't read the text before the space following they call you cause I'm very hungry and can't think straight. I;m sorry

Posted by The Offspring:
Come On. Think of their best hits: Self Esteem Come Out and Play, Gotta' Get Away, Gone Away, Pretty Fly, Want You Bad, Why Don't You Get A Job?, and Defy You just to name a few(several). Plus, they're coming out with a new album: "Chinese Democracy"; and Dexter's got a great voice. They have good music video themes, and their music is awesome.

Posted by Druid:
RUSH. Even if they've sunk down hill in the past 12 years or so, they were the biggest influence on prog-metal of all time.

Posted by The Dick:
The Norway death metal band Mayhem should be featured. cheack out there entry at: www.allmusic.com

Posted by Anarchist:
yeah, man the sexpistols shudave been the first punks not dead!

Posted by Layne Staley:
Alice in Chains

Posted by truth:
I think slipknot! i mean 9 totally different messed up guys in a band o.O someone tell me what joey thinks and his kabuki mask rocks!!! oooh joey! i wanna know what corey thinks!!!!

Posted by shekky:
alice in chains mofo! this is so obvious also

Posted by aerosmith:
they are the biggest band ever to come out of the U.S. They had the world by the balls then lost it all because of their drug abuse only to make the biggest rock n roll comeback to date

Posted by Ronnie:
Dead Kennedys, NIN, Manson, Limp, BSB

Posted by anon4:
Pink Floyd in their many incarnations.

Posted by someone:
alice in chains, damnit

Posted by Anthony:
I don't know...I think in a couple of years, Weezer will have a pretty damn good story!

Posted by corporate_magazines_still_suck:
Damn straight there should be a BTM about Nirvana! And the '92 and '94 ones they were in don't count for sh!t. I personally think we should all sign a petition for it, honest.

Posted by Kirstin:
nirvana wasn't a punk band, "nirvana 1994us" But anyway, SMASHING PUMPKINS!!

Posted by nirvana:
they rull

Posted by xyz:
Hey You need to add another on to your list. There is already a Fleetwood Mac Behind the Music

nevermindandy
nirvana cuz they'd have real cool stuff with murder conspiracy and chris and dave's current doings

choden

crusher
i have to insist it be SLADE . England's best live band had 16 top 20 hits between 1971 and 1976, including 6 number ones , 3 number twos and 2 number threes. Their drummer lost his memory in a tragic accident and had to relearn all Slade's songs. Besides, Noddy Holder has the most awesome vocal pipes in rock! Look 'em up - you might discover the world's best kept secret.

jimmy
sorry to have to tell you mate but vh1 cant do a behind the scenes on nirvana because (unless im grossly miss-informed)kurt cobain killed himself.
