Jacko Vs Eminem
Ananova reports: Michael Jackson is considering
suing Eminem over his new video depicting the star playing with children.
The Just Lose It promo features Eminem dressed as Jackson, losing his cosmetically enhanced nose and jumping on a bed with young children.
The Jacko character is also vomited on by the real Eminem and also douses his flaming hair by sticking his head down a toilet.
Jackson branded the video 'disrespectful' and is determined to have it banned, reports the Daily Star. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Queen Bashes Madonna
Ananova reports: Former Queen drummer
Roger Taylor is supporting Sir Elton John's attack on Madonna for "miming"

Taylor said: "It is about time somebody said it. It was a very brave and correct thing to say.
"Maybe she should get an award for dancing but certainly not for singing.
"It is the worst-kept secret in the world and I think there is too much bl**dy dancing in rock'n'roll and not enough actual singing." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

CMJ Hits New York
Pitchfork reports: Starting this Wednesday,
the annual indie wank-a-thon that is the CMJ Music Marathon will descend
on New York City like a pack of degenerate, rabid monkeys-- only most of
the participants will have musical instruments, opposable thumbs, and (slightly)
better hair. One of the longest running and biggest events of its kind,
this year's CMJ, taking place over four days (from October 13th to the
16th), will feature over 900 artists and bands playing a dizzying array
of New York clubs, as well as a keynote address by Al Franken, numerous
panel discussions, a film festival, and an exhibit area where, among other
things, even more bands will play. We had you at Al Franken, didn't we?
But even with all that excellent extra curricular activity, your main motivation for attending CMJ is probably the incredibly long list of incredibly great bands. Even a short list of artists playing at CMJ would take the better part of your morning to read [see full story to read that list]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bruce Palmer RIP
ArrowFM reports: Buffalo Springfield bassist
Bruce Palmer died Monday of a reported heart attack. He was 58. Palmer
was a significant contributor to the country/blues Sixties sound, which
characterized so much of the decade. Born in Canada in 1946, Palmer biggest
collaboration was with Neil Young, first in the Mynah Birds, a band that
also featured the late Rick James. The band broke up after James was arrested
for going AWOL from the military. Young and Palmer immediately moved from
Ontario to Los Angeles in 1966 and soon joined up with Stephen Stills,
drummer Dewey Martin and singer Richie Furay to form Buffalo Springfield.

Kings of Sunset Strip
press release (RLS Records/Metal Sludge)
reports: RLS Records is also proud to announce the first of a new series
to be issued by the Indy label. The title is Kings of Sunset Strip - Volume
1. KOSS Vol.-1 has 3 tracks by each: Angora (feat: John Corabi - The Scream,
Motley Crue, Union, Ratt), Jailhouse (feat: ex. Rough Cutt members / ORGY,
NEVE), Tommi Gunn Produced by Toby Wright (Motley Crue, KISS, Korn), &
Young Gunns (who later became WildSide). This will be hitting the streets
November 2nd. The Kings of Sunset Strip series will give the old school
fan of the Hollywood scene a real treat. These tracks are originals recorded
by the bands during their "hey day" and have now been taken from demo status
to high end CD masters. These tunes will take the fans back to those nights
of collecting flyers, hanging outside on the Gazzarri's wall and being
a part of a time they will likely never forget. The Hollywood & Sunset
Strip scene of the 80s' was no doubt one of the greatest musical melting
pots the world has ever known. The scene brought us Motley Crue, Van Halen,
Poison, Ratt, Janes Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns n' Roses, Warrant,
LA Guns & dozens of others. But there were a lot of other bands as
well. Very cool bands who sold out The Roxy, who headlined the Whisky-a-Go-Go,
who played the world famous Cathouse, and helped shape the scene. Bands
who ruled and once walked like Kings of the Sunset Strip. So, they too
deserve a place on the CD shelf. Look for Kings of Sunset Strip - Volumes
1, 2 & 3. [see full story for more]- Click
