Beck Denied

thetripwire reports: Now this is just plain silly. Beck's latest album, The Information, was released on Monday in the UK. Even if it happens to sell eight zillion copies, there is no chance of it actually charting thanks to a bizarre ruling by the UK's Official Chart Company.

Oasis Yahoos New Vid

Yahoo reports: On Thursday, October 5th, the multi-platinum rock sensation, Oasis is set to premiere their latest video, "Aquiesce," exclusively on Yahoo! Music. Guitar Hero

Guitar Player reports: Guitar Player magazine has announced that Trey Alexander, a 25-year old musician and guitar instructor from Lancaster, PA was the winner in the publication's second annual Guitar Hero competition. The event was held on Saturday, September 23 at 8:00 PM at San Francisco, CA's Great American Music Hall. 

Alexander performed his original progressive fusion song, "The Modern Equivalent," to a panel of celebrity judges including: guitar legend Joe Satriani, session great and Toto axeman Steve Lukather, former Poison and Mr. Big guitarist Ritchie Kotzen, TV's Rockstar: SuperNova house band guitarslinger Rafael Moreira, the fabulous Shredmistress Rynata, and Steve Read of Musician's Friend.
