Fastfood Music For Fastfood Kids
punkbands reports: McDonald's is holding parking-lot concerts (why not in the ball crawl?), Taco Bell is shoving burritos down the pieholes of musicians (as part of their egregious "Fourth Meal" plan to make America even fatter), and Burger King is slinging MP3s along with french fries.

[In a] podcasted interview with Sherri Daye Scott, editor at restaurant trade mag QSR, and a marketing guy from Taco Bell goes into a little bit more detail about the fast food chains' latest attempt to paint themselves as "hip" and "with it" and not, you know, large, faceless purveyors of fat-choked snack treats.

Taco Bell is committed to helping out crappy "emerging" mall emo bands, especially since they're "already talking about our brand in a positive light." - The podcast is here

Kanye Jumps on the T-Pain Bar Wagon
PR reports: It's official: T-Pain's former No. 1 Billboard single "Buy You a Drank" has resurfaced in its remixed form, this time boasting hip-hop's leading man Kanye West in place of Young Joc.

The first verse belongs to Kanye, who ups T-Pain's ante with the line, "F*ck a drink, I'ma buy the bar if you're worth it." A man of his word and his wallet, Mr. West ends his verse and turns things back over to T-Pain and the chart-topping single we all know and love.

Check out the streams for a powerhouse, late summer remix of an early summer smash.- Listen to it here

Fjord Rowboat Landing on US Shores Next Month
PR reports: Fjord Rowboat has finally crossed the boarder, releasing Saved The Compliments For Morning in the US this September. Easily one of Toronto's best-kept indie-rock secrets, Fjord Rowboat's shoegazer mentality not only begs for comparisons to Sianspheric, Swervedriver, and yes My Bloody Valentine, but also puts a bit of Interpol and The Jesus and Mary Chain in the ear.

One of the main concerns about this debut is the deathly serious nature of the songs. The opposite approach to shoegazer was found in Asobi Seksu's Citrus, where the twirls of feedback and layered guitars were given a dollop of fun and colour. Lighten up and have fun is the simple advice, since this band certainly have the chops and vision to make something great. - more on this story

PR reports: MVD has set a Rocktober 9th release date for Bruce Springsteen Under Review 1978-1982: Tales Of The Working Man DVD. Although Bruce Springsteen's huge body of work has had its highs and its not so highs, there is one distinct period within his career that remains, almost inarguably, his most creative, consistent, and satisfying. We talk of course of the trilogy of albums he released between 1978 and 1982, comprising Darkness On The Edge Of Town, The River and Nebraska.

FEATURES INCLUDE Historical musical performances, reassessed by a panel of esteemed experts and obscure footage, rare interviews (with Springsteen and with others) and seldom seen photographs.
