Guff Recruit Steve Perry for new CD
PR reports: With nearly 10 years of existence and 700 shows under their belt and not much recognition to show for it, Athens Georgia's Guff is apparently in it for all the right reasons. From tying together entire sections of tours via roll-up-and-hop-on shows to drug busts and volunteering as medical research subjects in a middle-of-America no name town in order to get cash to fix a destroyed tour van, Guff has remained diligently committed to a punk ethos and work ethic despite the ever-persistent saturation of the independent artist's existence.

Their upcoming release, "Symphony Of Voices" (out June 26th on Go Kart Records) is a straight on, no frills collection of high octane melodic punk. While over the years countless others have spliced the classic methods with flavor-of-the-day chugs, sobs, and so forth, Guff remains true to the genre's purest form. If you've ever had a soft spot for pop-minded punk prepare to have it re-tenderized.

While Guff was in the studio Journey's own Steve Perry happened to randomly stop by to visit a friend. Upon hearing the band he was so impressed that he proposed that they collaborate with him on song. Track 12, "I Can See It In Your Eyes", was produced by Steve Perry and also features vocals from the legendary arena rocker.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

what the hell is an OFCOM?
PR reports: As you may or may not have heard... The Cribs' video for new single "Men's Needs" has been banned-- apparently it's "too shocking"... It's been banned from appearing on MTV2 before 9pm due to an OFCOM complaint.

The video contains extremely realistic gore and bloody, bloody violence* depicting drummer Ross Jarman's arm being sliced off and bassist Ryan Jarman getting beheaded which apparently didn't fly so well with parents.

Men's Needs Women's Needs, Whatever will be released digitally on May 22 and will hit stores on July 17.

Hell is for Heros Recording
PR reports: After a two year break since their last release Transmit Disrupt', HELL IS FOR HEROES went back in the studio to record their eponymous follow up, an album of brooding and powerful rock. Squealer A.D. Finally Arrives
PR reports: Dortmund, Germany's Squealer A.D. may have released the most intense, ballsy, adventurous, dense, abstract and alternative metal CD of the year in Confrontation Street (Locomotive; due May 22; originally released OCT. 06) . Its 11 tracks in 45:56 bespeaks a soiled profundity, one that takes time getting used to but sinks in hard, like a tattoo, and doesn't, no matter what you do, ever come out again. Its vision is bleak; its purview mired in a hopeless fury of inchoate yearning. You don't sit down to simply enjoy such a passion, you inject it, then lie down and let its effects wash over you.

Judas Priest knew the inherent power within. That's why the superstar act asked them to open a 2002 tour. The new record, flush with the thrill of Euro stages, was started in 2003 and scheduled for 2005. A hospital stay, though, for singer Andy "Henner" Allendorfer, pushed production back. So the release date was postponed for what they thought would be 2006. On January 16, 2005, on the way to a private gig for a fan who just turned 50, Henner's car skated on some black roadside ice and he died at the scene of the crash. He was 38.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

EOTO Spring Tour
PR reports: EOTO is proud to announce its 2007 spring tour. Michael Travis and Jason Hann (both members of the String Cheese Incident) take on different roles in this non-stop show that bridges the gap between the energy of a live band and DJ-played club music. Travis mans the stringed instruments and keys along with various effects and loops while Hann displays his drumset prowess.

In order to cement themselves on the "musician" side of electronica, EOTO is less about the gadgets and all about the dance party. "We use gear as a way of being able to do all of this live with just the 2 of us and no pre-recorded tracks, but our goal is to be able to create new club music on the spot and put it down as quickly as if you were dropping a needle on the latest new track - without stopping the dance flow all set or all night" says Hann. EOTO hits the groove hard with their brand of live Breakbeat, House, Drum n Bass, and Trip-Hop club genres[see full story for dates]- Click Here for the Full Story
