The Thermals Lose Member
punknews.org reports: The Thermals have announced the departure of drummer Lorin Coleman. They explained: The split has been totally amicable, with no hard feelings on either end.

"Lorin has simply left The Thermals to pursue other endeavors, one of which is playing in the band Andy Combs and the Moth. Lorin played hundreds of shows and recorded a bunch of sessions with us over the past two years. He is a fantastic drummer and a good friend. We would like to thank him immensely, and wish him well in whatever comes next for him. THANK YOU LORIN!

As for Kathy and I, we have just about finished writing a new record, and are almost done with some demos. - more on this story

Def Leppard Add World Tour Dates
antiMusic reports: Def Leppard have updated thier world tour plans. Here is what what's up according to their official site:

Four shows have just been fully confirmed (two in India, one in Bulgaria, one in Czech Republic). Also, the Helsinki show has been moved from May 25th to June 4th.

Additionally, some shows in Lithuania, Estonia, Albania, Turkey, Romania and Germany that are mentioned by various sources have NOT been fully confirmed yet. As soon as we receive 100% confirmation on these, we will update you immediately.

Fates Warning Reissue

Ra Ra Riot On the Road
Filter reports: Syracuse sextet Ra Ra Riot have announced a massive tour to follow up Friday night's sold out headlining show at NYC's Bowery Ballroom.

The indie-rock troupe is in especially high demand considering they haven't had a release since their self-released, self-titled debut EP came out to much acclaim in July 2007.

The band will play selected dates opening for The Cribs and the remaining dates co-headlining with LA buzz band, The Little Ones. Among the dates are six performances this week at SXSW - more on this story

Earlimart Set Release
Filter reports: Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray - otherwise known as LA duo Earlimart - will release their sixth full-length album cleverly and aptly titled Hymm and Her after their gradual metamorphosis into a twosome over the past decade.

The organic record took less than a year to record and was fully written and produced by the pair.

Earlimart will play a handful of shows this week at SXSW with no other tour dates announced at this time. Hymm and Her drops July 1st courtesy of Majordomo. - more news from Filter

Rev Theory Light Up WWE
PR reports: WWE has announced that Rev Theory's "Light It Up" along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Snow (Hey Oh)" will be this year's theme songs for Wrestlemania XXIV.

Selected from among thousands of recent rock anthems, "Light It Up" has gotten wrestling fans pumped up and raving already for this legendary sports-entertainment spectacular. The song is included in Wrestlemania ads and will be played during the event and on the WWE website, www.WWE.com.

What else would you expect from a band who was a part of last year's Bad Boys of Rock tour with rock hard heavy hitters Hinder, Buckcherry and Papa Roach? Fans of Rev Theory can also look forward to the band's debut album on Interscope Records coming June 2008 - Myspace page

36 Crazyfists Preview
PR reports: Alaskan metal heavyweights 36 Crazyfists will debut a brand-new song from their upcoming album, The Tide and Its Takers, exclusively on Myspace Metal. The track "Absent Are The Saints" will be available starting Monday March 10th only at www.myspace.com/metal.

36 Crazyfists is currently touring with DevilDriver, Napalm Death, and Invitro on the Bound By The Road tour to support the May 27 release of The Tide and Its Takers. The album is the Ferret Music debut from 36 Crazyfists.

Britney Eyes Sitcom Role
TMZ reports: TMZ has learned that Britney Spears is prepping for a small guest part on CBS's hit "How I Met Your Mother."

Our sources tell us that Brit's agent Jason Trawick from William Morris made the deal with producers on the show. One source called it "a small legitimate project that will keep her busy doing something." We're told it's not long term and her dad -- her conservator -- is down with it and has signed off.
