Attack! Attack! UK Week: Final Day
antiMusic reports: The British are coming, the British are coming. That is Attack! Attack! UK's new self-titled album is coming out next week. To celebrate the pending release from these buzz worthy Welsh rockers, we asked the band's frontman Neil Starr to pick some of his favorite songs from the album and tell us about them. Here is Neil with today's song:

You and Me: Will, the bassist, had just agreed to join the band and myself and Ryan said do you have any song ideas you can play us. He put a cd in my player and it played a rough demo version of the song that he had recorded on his PC. I was instantly in love with the groove and totally loved the riff! it triggered something in my head and I kinda just blurted out the melodies straight away . Sorry that may sound boring haha but that's how it happened , I think this is my fav song on the album!

Check out tracks from the album, get tour dates, read the members blogs and learn more about the coming attack right - here!

Rage Against CD Rumors
Music Radar reports: Yesterday, a rumor quickly made its way across the blogosphere that the reunited Rage Against The Machine were beginning work on an album of new material.

Apparently, a "source," possibly from within the band's label, Sony, said that the band was readying new songs to be released in 2009."We're hopeful," the source explained, "but a new album is far from definite."

Make that very from from definite. MusicRadar spoke with a spokesperson for guitarist Tom Morello, who said the story was "officially and unequivocally without merit. I can categorically deny this rumor. The band has no plans on recording new material." - more on this story

iTunes Saved: Feds Decide Royalty Rate, Everyone Claims Victory
Jam! reports: The big dust up over the feds changing royalty rates that had iTunes singing a tune of shutting down now has all sides singing a song of victory. Jam! has the story:

The federal Copyright Royalty Board on Thursday left the royalty that songwriters receive on sales of CDs and digital downloads at US 9.1 cents per song for the next five years.

Both songwriters and music sellers applauded the ruling - but for different reasons. Apple Inc., which had threatened to shutter its iTunes store if the rate increased, appeared to have scored a clear win. - more on this story

Ted Nugent's Electrified Loins
Music Radar reports: At nearly 60 years of age, Ted Nugent is still singing to the women of the world, and he claims that his tunes have the same effect on the female persuasion today as they did in his heyday during the '70s.

"The girls love my music," the 'Motor City Madman' states happily. "It's so genuine, it's so sensual. Listen to the intro of Love Grenade or Girl Scout Cookies. Listen to Stranglehold or Cat Scratch Fever. Dear God, that's as primal as primal can be!"

Still, one question persists. For a musician who celebrates sexuality as unabashedly as The Nuge, why did he stop wearing his trademark loincloth onstage? "Well, Mrs Nugent, who happens to be my campaign manager and, I would like to think, my overall quality-of-life manager - while I was sleeping many years ago, Mrs Nugent actually implanted an electronic dog-training collar on my scrotum." Nugent says, laughing. - Listen to the full podcast for more gems like this one.

Neil Young Taps Everest For Support
PR reports: It's not every day a young band gets invited to join a legend on stage, for what's shaping up to be a most anticipated tour. Los Angeles-based quintet Everest had that very experience when Neil Young asked them to support his national tour, joining Wilco and Death Cab for Cutie, East coast and West coast, respectively.

This collective of talented musicians is no stranger to touring, having just returned from a European jaunt with My Morning Jacket, in addition to each individual's resume, ranging from stints in The Watson Twins to Sebadoh. As the Los Angeles Times pointed out, the band members "sport resumes longer than the intro to 'Cortez The Killer.'"

Everest's debut album, Ghost Notes (Vapor Records), is sonically reminiscent of the classic vintage equipment used to capture it. Recorded at Elliott Smith's former studio, New Monkey Studio, one can't help wonder if the album title reflects more than just a name. - more on this story
