Get Some Golden Nashville Pussy
MMP reports: When it comes to rock'n'roll, you basically have two types of performers: the sweet and cuddly, radio-friendly bands whose only interest in making music is a vague hope of getting laid after a concert and the true, untamed rock groups, who deliver sleazy, profane sounds that have "kick-ass" written all over them. Fortunately, Nashville Pussy falls into the latter category and even better stands right in the first row, showcasing a style that captures all the best ingredients of rock'n'roll mayhem. This exclusive re-release of the group's fourth full-length album "Get Some" brings a powerful dose of bar brawiln', beer gruzzlin' music straight from the Great American South.

Released through Spitfire Records in 2005, "Get Some" proved to be the band's best effort yet, delivering thirteen straight-forward 4/4 rock crunchers. Recorded with new bass player Karen Cuda (this way creating arguably Nashville Pussy's best line-up to date), the LP introduced a heavier, much more metal oriented style than on the previous albums, kicking the listener straight in the face with some truly relentless riffage. The best examples of that are such songs as the opener "Pussy Time" and the drum-possessed "Hell Ain't What It Used To Be". On some of the tracks, Blaine's voice is quite similar to Alice Cooper, while still retaining the dirty Southern feel. Also his lyrics saw some changes, revealing a certain 'profoundness' here and there, but still sticking mainly to what the group knows best: partying, drinking, ----ing and basically having a good time. Nashville Pussy included two smokin' cover versions on "Get Some": "Nutbush City Limits" by Ike & Tina Turner and "Snowblind" by Ace Frehley, both of which are by many fans considered superior to the originals. Two tracks from the album "Come On Come On" and "Hate & Whiskey" were featured in the video game "Jackass: The Game".

"Get Some" will be available in a new digipak edition limited to 1000 copies. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on a golden disc. The release date is scheduled for 2nd November.

Bottle Up and Go Showcasing
Submitted News reports: Bottle Up and Go are gearing up to trigger more drooling, awestruck jaws with their upcoming high-energy CMJ showcases, which include their 10/22 show at Webster Hall's The Studio with Suckers, Gordon Voidwell, and Tony Castles as well as their 10/23 show at Glasslands with Pattern is Movement, Francis and The Lights, and Let's Wrestle.

BU&G started off as a Leadbelly cover band during their formative years at Wesleyan University. As soon as word got around about these sonic roustabouts, house parties around campus started filling up and their shows became known as a rendez-vous for unruly pandemonium. The band began receiving requests for original material and soon BU&G's entire set was made up of their own styling of junkyard garage rock and bluesy slide-guitar grooves. Despite their youthful appeal and recent graduation from school, BU&G have already accomplished sharing the stage with indie heavyweights such as Crystal Antlers, Deer Tick, O'Death and Man Man.

Darker is better. Louder is better. At least that's the case with BU&G's newest song "Until The Day I Die", from their upcoming full-length debut album, set for a winter release. With it's more robust offering of barbaric and stripped rawness, BU&G's equally manage to blend in dollops of pop sensibilities that could quite possibly make them the breakout indie act of 2010. The new songs will mark a small death between their last These Bones EP ("All my Trials" included in Download Page above) and the refreshed roar of their upcoming full-length debut. The theme of "death" interweaves throughout the band's freak out blues punk and serves as a catapulting platform for half-belted and half-sung lyrics of haunting iconography, murder ballads, morning tremors and jail time.
