The Mars Volta Members Shoot Down At The Drive-In Reunion

(Punknews.org) The Mars Volta have commented further on reunion rumors sparked by a reconciliation with their former At The Drive-In bandmates. Speaking to Gigwise at Mercury Records HQ in West London, Omar Rodrguez-Lpez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala said they're happy to reconnect with their former bandmates but rumors of reunions are unlikely to come true:

"(The reunion rumors surfaced when) we took time to bury the hatchet with the other members. There had been a lot of s*** talk, at least on my behalf, and I had stuff that I wanted to say. I wanted to be friends with the guys again. (A reunion) couldn't happen any time soon because we have so much Mars Volta material.

"We're smart enough to never say never as you don't know how life is going to happen. It's like your first girlfriend, you learned amazing things together, but do you really want to open that can of worms?" - more on this story
