Frank Ocean Debuts Three New Songs
. One of the videos was a mere 50-second clip of a song, while the other two videos seem to be entire tunes. All three songs seem to have the same general Ocean spirit put forth on Channel Orange and its preceding mixtape, nostalgia, ULTRA. Ocean meanders through each track, pulling different progressions and melodies out of thin air while minimal instrumental backing accompanies him. One song in particular is a four-minute track that includes sunny, spacy guitar accompaniment that recalls OutKast's zoned out "Prototype" (Ocean's worked with Andre 3000 in the past, so perhaps Andre had something to do with it?). "I'd do anything for you," Ocean repeats as percussion kicks in toward the song's end. Check out all three songs and read more here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
