Chance the Rapper Returns With No Better Blues
. "No Better Blues" finds the young Chicago rapper particularly contemplative, unleashing a laundry list of things he hates: festivals, crowds, bars, most everything else you could think of. It is hard to say if Atmosphere's "Scapegoat" is a direct influence here, but there are definite parallels between the songs, with both coming off as much as spoken-word performance pieces than actual "rap." Chance's conclusion on this track is that "it don't get better," a truth we hope is set up for dramatic purposes, and not speaking directly to the artist's state of mind. He sure seems to love life when he's on stage. Check of "No Better Blues" here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
