50 Cent Ordered To Bankruptcy Court Over Cash Filled Instagram Posts

(Radio.com) 50 Cent aka Curtis James Jackson III will have to appear in bankruptcy court after a judge got wind that he had been posting several questionable photos on his Instagram account. Those photos show the rapper either posing with or displaying massive amounts of cash around his house.

In a hearing on Thursday in Hartford, Connecticut, Judge Ann Nevins said, "I'm concerned about allegations of nondisclosure and a lack of transparency in the case. There's a purpose of having a bankruptcy process be transparent, and part of that purpose is to inspire confidence in the process" (via Washington Street Journal).

50 Cent originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 13, 2015, shortly before he was ordered to pay Lastonia Leviston $7 million for leaking her sex tape. Leviston still hasn't collected any of that money, and she, along with 50 cent's mortgage lender and a business partner still owed money, flagged the Instagram photos.

Although 50 Cent's lawyers have not responded to Judge Nevins' order, they did state that the rapper's Instagram photos should not count as evidence in any motion against him. "By including pictures from [Mr. Jackson's] social media accounts and implying that [he] is hiding assets'the [three creditors] intentionally ignore that [Mr. Jackson] is in the entertainment and promotion business and must maintain his brand and image (or those of the products he is promoting)," they wrote in filed court documents.
