Andre 3000 Talks 'Fiending To Do Music'

(Radio.com) Rapper Andre 3000 is stepping back into the spotlight with a starring role on the second season of the drama American Crime. In promoting the new season, premiering January 6, Andre 3000 spoke to Billboard about playing a normal dad on television. He also shared details regarding a return to music and working wit his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, Erykah Badu.

3 Stacks said his role playing a married architect opposite Regina King is what pushed him to start working on music. "I still get time to think about music. [Shooting TV and film projects] is not so bad - it kind of puts you in the place where you're fiending to do music," Andre commented. "I've been holding [back] for a long time, so now I'm really interested in figuring out some type of music to do. I'm always recording."

Erykah Badu and his son Seven also helped Andre get back into music by having him record a verse for "Hello," a song off her 2015 Drake-inspired mixtape But You Cain't Use My Phone. Read more about that here.
