Kylie Minogue Chicago Debut Changed
PR reports: Kylie Minogue's first ever show in Chicago this Wednesday October 7th is being moved at the last minute to the UIC Pavilion (University of Illinois at Chicago: 525 S Racine Ave., Chicago, IL 60607-3303)!

The Spectacular, originally scheduled to be staged at the Congress Theatre, sold out months ago but the sheer scale of the production just won't fit into the Congress, necessitating the upgrade.

The promoters apologize to any fans inconvenienced by this last minute change. The good news is that UIC Pavilion will showcase Kylie better. The downtown venue is more accessible for most fans and the move has created a release of additional tickets for those previously disappointed. - more on this story

John Denver Double DVD Release
Kayos reports: On October 13, Eagle Rock Entertainment will pay homage to the timeless singer/songwriter/performer John Denver. The release of Rocky Mountain High: Live In Japan on DVD and Around The World Live on 5DVD celebrates the life and immeasurable influence of this cherished artist. [MSRP $59.98 for 5DVD, $11.98 for single DVD]

John Denver was a rare combination: an exemplary songwriter, gifted performer, and unwavering philanthropist. His peaceful vision and generous spirit permeated into every aspect of his work, touching fans all over the world. Selling over 40 million albums worldwide, Denver's music has acquired him two Grammys, three American Music Awards, two Country Music Awards, and an Emmy, as well as an induction into the Songwriter's Hall Of Fame. It was his devotion to environmental and humanitarian issues that stratified him from music mainstay to cultural icon before his passing in a 1997 plane crash.

The first three discs of Around The World Live are comprised of live performances from Australia in 1977, Japan in 1981, and England in 1986, complete with bonus tracks. Disc 4 complements the collection with a 1984 Japanese solo acoustic set, as well as a sprinkling of Farm Aid performances from 1985, 1987, and 1990. The final disc digs a bit deeper with two documentaries, each running an hour. One is an Earth Day program from 1990, and the other is a 1972 special about Bighorn sheep, which reside in Denver's beloved Rocky Mountains. This beautiful restored footage was produced by Barry Ehrmann of Enliven Entertainment, who also produced ZZ Top's Live From Texas DVD and Jason Aldean's Wide Open Live & More DVD (both released via Eagle Rock). - more on this story

"Much as Portland's acoustic community shies away from the digitized crowd, those peculiar obsessions borne from bedroom strumming or programming aren't so terribly different," says Portland, Oregons alternative weekly on local indie-rocker Leigh Marble and his new album, "Twister".

Portlands other alternative weekly, The Mercury, said, "Heavy doses of dub permeate the mix, with Marble's wavering vocals drowning spookily in and out of balance," of Marbles "Twister". - more on this story
