The Day in Pop Digest for 3/03/11: (BBC) A US judge has delayed the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, until May to allow both sides more time to prepare. Dr Murray told the judge he accepted the delay, so long as it was "not strung along over a long period of time". more

(Billboard) Christina Aguilera will be the third coach on NBC's new singing competition series "The Voice," joining Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine. more

Paula Abdul Calls 911 On Boyfriend
(TMZ) Paula Abdul made a frantic and tearful 911 call during a Valentine's Day drive with a boyfriend -- repeatedly screaming, "Drop me off!" ... and TMZ has obtained the recording.

During the call -- placed at 4:35 PM on Valentine's Day -- Paula cries and sobs hysterically and says, "I wanna go, and he won't let me!"

Seconds later Paula says, "Are you gonna drop me off 'cause I have emergency on the phone" -- and shortly after that she says, "He's dropping me off." more on this story

Shania Twain To Tell All in May
Shania Twain's autobiography is set to hit stores on May 3rd. The autobiography will be published by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster, and has been entitled "From This Moment On" .

Shania Twain rose to fame in the early 1990s with her debut album Shania Twain (1993), and achieved worldwide success with her 1997 album Come On Over, which became the best-selling album of all time by a female musician, and the best selling country album of all time.

A five-time Grammy Award winner, Twain has also achieved major success as a songwriter, winning 27 BMI Songwriter awards. Despite the fact Twain has released very few albums, she has sold over 75 million albums worldwide to date, including 48 million in the U.S. Her docu-series on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will debut in May. Two and a Half Men Creator Says Show Isn't Over
(TMZ) The guy who co-created "Two and a Half Men" with Chuck Lorre is FIGHTING to make sure the show does NOT get canceled ... and has been telling people, "This show is not over."

Lee Aronsohn � an executive producer on "Men" and "Big Bang Theory" -- has been vocal about NOT wanting to cancel "Men" .. especially because Lee recently made a deal to leave his post on "Big Bang Theory" to focus on Sheen's show.

But that was before the drama started. Now, sources connected to the production tell us Lee had a "big meeting" with Chuck and a mystery third party this week regarding the fate of "Men." more on this story

KT Tunstall Solo Show Tour
EMI sent over word that KT Tunstall will embark on "The Solo Show" tour this Spring in continuing support of her third full-length album, Tiger Suit.

Kicking-off in Boston, MA "The Solo Show" tour will take the critically acclaimed artist coast-to-coast to showcase just how powerful her live solo show really is.

Since Tiger Suit's release on Virgin Records in October of last year, KT Tunstall has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show, The CBS Early Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Lopez Tonight and also performed on NPR's World Caf� program. MGMT Remixed
Columbia Records sent over word that MGMT will digitally release the Congratulations Remixes EP on March 15th.

The 3 song EP will include remixes of tracks off the band's last release Congratulations.

The EP features a full 10+ minute "Siberian Breaks" remix from the Ed Banger All-Stars, a group comprised of artists on Ed Banger Records which was founded by Justice. Also included is a remix of "Congratulations" by Erol Alkan, a London based DJ known as an originator of mashups and one of the most acclaimed dj's of the last decade, reworked the title track "Congratulations." The final track was remixed by Japanese artist/producer, Cornelius, who remixed the band's song"Brian Eno." These join the previously released remixes of "It's Working" by Air and Violens. more on this story

Christina Perri Sets Album Release
Christina Perri's debut album lovestrong is due out May 10th on Atlantic Records.

Ms. Perri spent the last month plus locked away at the famous studio with producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, Tori Amos, The Shins) working on the eleven songs that will be featured on lovestrong. � including her already platinum-selling single "Jar Of Hearts." The album was mixed by Michael Brauer (Coldplay, Regina Spektor).

The last eight months have been a whirlwind for this 24-year-old girl from Bensalem, PA who moved to LA three years ago with a suitcase, a guitar and a dream. (TMZ) Former MTV annoyance Angelina Pivarnick got her head BASHED in by one of the hottest professional wrestlers on EARTH and TMZ has the ruthless girl-on-girl footage.

It all went down in North Carolina last week -- when Angelina decided to talk a whole lotta smack to a she-wrestler named Velvet Sky during a taping of TNA iMPACT ... scheduled to air tonight.

The Concretes Release New Video
(Girlie) The Concretes is currently in the midst of the West Coast leg of their first U.S. tour in four years, and now they'd like to share a new music video for WYWH's "Crack In The Paint."

Family Guy Orchestra
(Universal Music) "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane will perform live at Club Nokia in Los Angeles with a 36-piece orchestra Saturday, March 26.

Sara Bareilles, will join MacFarlane and the band to perform their duet "Love Won't Let You Get Away."

The album, titled Music Is Better Than Words, is a crisp sounding orchestral/ big band record that features MacFarlane singing some of the hidden musical gems of the '40s and '5os. Introducing this rich sound and classic integrity to a new audience, the album features duets with beloved artists Norah Jones and Sara Bareilles, and was arranged, conducted, and produced by accomplished film and television composer Joel McNeely, who will conduct the orchestra at the event. Universal Republic Records, who signed MacFarlane in 2010, will release the album in stores and online platforms in September 2011. more on this story

Koussevitzky Foundation Announces Eight New Commission Winners
The Library of Congress sent over this announcement: The Serge Koussevitzky Music Foundation in the Library of Congress and the Koussevitzky Music Foundation, Inc., have awarded commissions for new musical works to eight composers. Jointly granting the commissions are the foundations and the performing organizations that will present the newly composed works.

Award winners and the groups co sponsoring their commissions are John Corigliano and the New York Philharmonic; Justin Dello Joio and Bargemusic of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Fang Man and Dolce Suono Ensemble of Philadelphia; David Felder and SIGNAL of Rochester, N.Y.; Eric Moe and Talujon of Sea Cliff, N.Y.; Augusta Read Thomas and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra of N.Y.; Jukka Tiensuu and New Paths in Music of Staten Island, N.Y.; and Bright Sheng and the Prism Quartet of Philadelphia.

Celebrated American composer John Corigliano will score a new work for mezzo-soprano and orchestra for the New York Philharmonic. His Symphony No. 2, introduced by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, was awarded the 2001 Pulitzer Prize in Music. Corigliano has also won three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award and the prestigious Grawemeyer Award for music composition. One of the few living composers to have a string quartet named for him, Corigliano serves on the composition faculty at the Juilliard School and holds the position of Distinguished Professor of Music at Lehman College, City University of New York. more on this story
