BNS Drop Tour
siN's metal news reports: Following suit with SOCIETY 1, Century Media's BRAND NEW SIN have also dropped off the SCUM OF THE EARTH tour. Drummer Kevin Dean submitted the following band update:

"We apologize for the sudden change in the tour - BRAND NEW SIN is home in Syracuse.

The beginning of the tour served us well with decent promotion and familiar BNS hot spots (Token Lounge, Lincoln Theater, Jaxx etc.) I must say that Chicago was one of my all time favorite shows! If you follow the tour dates, however, routing and budget do not dance well together in this musical; especially if shows are cancelled. Four total - two of which were on our way to CA. Good promoters are hard to come by. I say that at the risk of insulting anyone we met in the past 5 weeks. The fact remains that we're killing ourselves every night, pouring our hearts out and showing up the next night (which could be 10 hours away) to find a marquee that reads, "SCUM OF THE EARTH and SOCIETY 1". Floyd Score
MVd reports: Eclectic DVD and Basho Records are pleased to announce the home viewing release of The Committee for US distribution on DVD.

The Committee, starring Paul Jones of Manfred Mann fame, is a unique and controversial document of Britain in the 1960s. Avoiding easy answers, The Committee uses a surreal murder to explore the tension and conflict between bureaucracy on one side, and individual freedom on the other. Unlike many films of the era that vilified the state as repressive, The Committee also explores the inherent weakness of the individual. Writer and producer Max Steuer and director Peter Syke's complex vision is presented with creative and often bizarre techniques, placing this film firmly within the 60's psychedelic movement.

The musical score is a major element of this film. Written and performed by the Pink Floyd, the soundtrack is some of the most intellectual music Pink Floyd has ever produced, according to music writer David King. This music has never before been released on any format, and is a must for all Floyd fanatics. Also featured in the movie is Arthur Brown performing his hit Fire.
