Bloc Party Remix

Rockdirt reports: RollingStone.com reports that Bloc Party will reissue their 2005 debut album Silent Alarm in remix form on September 13th. "We'd commissioned a bunch of remixes for B sides and singles and thought it'd be nice to collect them all together," Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong says of the CD's genesis. Korn Otep Pt II

siN's metal news reports: As exclusively reported here first, KORN's replacement axeman for their upcoming Fall tour will be ex-OTEP guitarist Rob Patterson. However, KORN frontman Jonathan Davis revealed that Patterson will not be taking to the stage while the band performs. A statement from his personal site reads as follows:

"We hired Rob Patterson to play guitar for the European dates but he will not be on stage. We don't want to use samples or tape, 'cause that would suck. We are not ready to have a new guy on stage with us.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Sharon Sued

Contact Music reports: Rock matriarch SHARON OSBOURNE is being sued for pulling the plug on a run in a London West End production of THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, following her daughter AIMEE's breast cancer scare earlier this year (05).

Osbourne jetted back to Los Angeles with Aimee, who had also agreed to star in the show, just days before she was due to make her first appearance in April - but the show's producers, Monologues Ltd, are suing her for breach of contract, according to British newspaper The Sun.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Euro Nevermore

press release reports: Seattle's finest metallers Nevermore have announced that they will be touring the UK & Europe in September 2005.

Unless you're Stateside to check out Megadeath's Gigantour this summer, then this will be your first chance to see the band playing new tracks from their epic new album "The Godless Endeavour" (released 15th August 2005).

Support on Nevermore's headlining tour comes from Danish newcomers Mercenary and German thrashers Dew-Scented.

press release reports: Universal Music are pleased to announce the Monday September 5th 2005 DVD premiere release of 'The Police - Synchronicity Concert' - the stunning live-in-concert live extravaganza filmed on at their final concert on their Synchronicity World Tour (and their last ever Police concert) in Melbourne, Australia 1984, the DVD also boasts for the first time ever - four songs performed in multi-angle at their Montreal concert (in 1983) on the same world tour. Nocturnal Rites Grand Illusion

press release reports: For 10 years, Nocturnal Rites have been something of a trademark for Melodic Metal. Now it´s time for the band to look forward again as the band finished the work on the seventh studio album "Grand Illusion", recorded and mixed at Toontrack Studio in Umea. The resulting ten new songs sound much fresher than many younger bands. A lot of well known musicians appeared as guests on the great new output, namely Stefan Elmgren (HammerFall), Jens Johansson (Stratovarius), Henrik Danhage (Evergrey), Kristoffer W. Olivius (Naglfar) and Swedish world champion of cross-country skiing (three times world cup gold), Per Elofsson. No joke…!

The finished album, in stores September 19th 2005, will contain a limited bonus DVD enclosing the 3 videos from "New World Messiah", the brand-new "Fools Never Die" video, a "Making Of Grand Illusion" and extra footage from the "Demons Of The Opera" show. Soilent Green Update

Relapse Records reports: Relapse Records recording artists SOILENT GREEN have completed work on the first music video from their brand new album, Confrontation.

The video, for the Confrontation roll-out track "Leaves of Three" was shot on location in Atlanta, Georgia by Director Chad Rullman (NILE, MASTODON, THE AGONY SCENE) for Supercollider Films and features SOILENT GREEN (vocalist Ben Falgoust (also of GOATWHORE), guitarists Brian Patton (also of EYEHATEGOD) and Tony White, bassist Scott Crochet and drummer Tommy Buckley (also of CROWBAR) performing in a super-intense setting a la the PANTERA videos "I'm Broken" and "Five Minutes Alone". Stretch Arm Strong US Tour

Big Hassle reports: Stretch Arm Strong recently completed a European tour with that included dates with Pennywise, Sick of it All & a slew of festival appearances. The band is now gearing up for Purevolume's Summer Free Fall tour with Haste The Day, Still Remains and Kane Hodder.

Helloween DVD

Chipster reports: The highly influential heavy metal band Helloween will release Hellish Videos: The Complete Video Collection on DVD on August 16, 2005, through Sanctuary Visual Entertainment. This DVD, compiled and produced by vocalist Andi Deris, features all the promotional videos ever made by the band.

New Story of the Year

Total Assault reports: Story Of The Year's new album IN THE WAKE OF DETERMINATION is being readied for an October 11 release on Maverick Records. The album is heavier and more guitar driven than their debut release. The album was produced by Steve Evetts (The Cure, Hatebreed, Saves The Day, Dillinger Escape Plan).

Story of The Year is on the Warped Tour Main Stage August 3-August 15 and will be one of the headliners on the 2005 International Taste of Chaos in October and November (Australia, Japan, UK and Germany)
