Pink Floyd Reunite For Live 8

06/13/05
.
(antiMusic) The Pink Floyd camp has put to rest rumors that they will reunite. The band including Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright will join each other on stage for the first time in almost 20 years at the London leg of Live 8 at Hyde Park on July 2nd, according to the BBC.

"Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," said Dave Gilmour.

"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile," he added.

Madonna, REM, U2, Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams are also scheduled to appear at Hyde Park. See the full story link for the BBC story. - Click here for the Full Story

africa does need alot of help. so much help it would be better to let it destroy itself and start over. these white-bred, soft-bellyed neo-hippies don't understand how utterly helpless most of africa is. or maybe they do. they just need something to raise up the flag pole to march and chant around. but i find it hard to believe that the "reunion" of pink floyd is going to stop the mass murder, mass rape, spread of aids, corruption, anarchy, child prostitution, non-exsistant economy, that is africa. its just an opportunity for a bunch of soon-to-be dead hippies to cash in on poor africa's misery and to make them look "socially concerned" and relive the old days. its all bullshyt. filthy, stinking, self-serving bullshyt. fukk pink floyd. fukk the people who listen to them and their ilk. and fukk whoever goes to any of these stupid fukking shows.-one day the rest of the world will be as africa is and then things will get..interesting. sweet dreams, kiddos.

DEAD HIPPIES AWAKE!!! This concert will gobble the nads of farm animals, and isn't is about time Africa figured out how to take care of itself? Jesus Christ just jumped up on a friggin chariot! They have land and resources and people in Africa, why the hell are they always starving? They must be just a bunch of idiots!

this is the best news i've heard in a long time...hopefully they will realize what a great thing they have together and will at least stay for one more album. even better that they are getting together for such a good cause, no matter what awful things the editor and others have said on this site against live8. africa is in need of help, and putting your racist feelings aside, this is a very worthy cause.
